(a closed prompt with me and @cosmicursidae , this is the other end of a thread that I had with @yaboigreggorylee that told of one of the ways Casey could’ve returned home)
It’s been roughly two to three days since Casey had returned to Possum Springs from the pit in the mine a mile or so from the town. Having hid in the back of the new Snack Falcon then been picked up by Gregg; Casey had been staying with him in his apartment. Though Angus hadn’t been home for that weekend so Casey wasn’t entirely sure if Gregg had informed his boyfriend of their new “roommate” so, saying this briefly; Casey was a bit scared.
Not really having moved much since their arrival, Casey was planted on the couch while staring at a little lunch meat sandwich Gregg had given to them so the cat could actually get some nourishment due to their lack of any sort of food for a long period of time. They hadn’t even really touched it, their stomach hurt quite bad and Casey knew they had to eat but it was hard to keep down. Pulling off the dusty miner-cultist coat that the cat had scavenged off of one of the dead members within the collapsed cave; They carefully stood up and stepped into the kitchen, struggling a bit with each step.
They then took notice to a little mark on the calendar in the kitchen, today Angus is returning home from a “family trip”. A small bit of unease fell over Casey as they never actually asked Gregg if he had told Angus about their arrival yet, or even the fact that they were staying in his and Gregg’s apartment. “Oh shit..” the cat mumbled as they fumbled open the fridge and took out a small water bottle before returning to the couch. Now it was the nervousness that washed over Casey in the thought that Angus might end up kicking them out. This could be bad, but maybe not.
Family trips were never really any fun. Not with his mother. But he was driving home now.
Well. Driving to Bea’s home, to get her car back. Angus didn’t have his own car. He was thankful she let him borrow it for so long. He wasn’t feeling too great, but it would be okay. He knew he’d be home soon. Home to someone who loved him. Someone who wouldn’t berate him at every possible opportunity. It was going to be nice to come back to Gregg’s open arms, though he wasn’t sure if he’d be home this early in the day. Or maybe he’d be asleep, or something like that. Depended on if he missed work.
Up the elevator, and through the door. Into the living room, and he headed for the couch, only to be greeted by a visitor. A visitor he recognized.
His eyes were wide, but only momentarily. Casey was scrawny. He must not have been eating very much. That wasn’t good. It was the first thing he noticed, and the first thing he worried about.
“Look how scrawny you are! We’ve got to get some food in you! What do you want to eat? I’ll make you anything.”
That was something he wouldn’t stand for. Someone going hungry. He’d never allow it on his watch. Some of his energy came from the shock of seeing Gregg’s old friend. He’d never really been friends with Casey himself, but he never had a problem with him. Just that they never really talked, just the two of them. They got along well enough when with Gregg.
“You just stay there. I’ll make you something sweet. Sweets give you energy!”
