Marlon watched her, not moving his eyes from her face as she admitted it. Wasnât that what eveyrone really wanted though? Everyone wanted someone to fight for them. Marlon was no exception. âMaybe youâve found that person and you donât even know it, C.â He said softly, reaching down to take one of her hands in his gently. âItâs really hard when youâre the only fighting though. You should know that.â
âMaybe I have,â she agreed, her voice small and quiet as she looked at him. And, as Marlon spoke further, his words stuck with her. She understood where he was coming from and she had been trying to return his efforts truly, such as asking him to the dance a while ago. But, still, she had yet to make the bold statements and moves that he had. She bit her lip, silent for a moment. Her determination then solidifying, she moved her other hand up to gently cup his face and then leaned up to press her lips against his own. âI know our thing is talking all mysteriously,â she laughed lightly, pulling back. âBut, getting to the point, I want this. And you. This isnât like last time where I left it up to your imagination.â
