what’s something that happened to you as a child that made you look spoiled but you only realise now that it had deeper meaning to it?

Mine was when I got a cardboard castle that I could colour in for my birthday and the next day I found out my mum had coloured it grey and red but I wanted it pink and purple

turns out I was more upset about the fact my mum used my birthday present before I got the chance
