This has been on my mind & since Tumblr is where I come to be my rawest self, here goes (side note: this is a separate tumblr account for the purpose of business). Being laid off during this pandemic has brought so many things to light for me. The most prominent being that I need to stop stalling on my dreams of being a black business owner & actually make it happen. I want to come out of this on top ✨

I would absolutely love to start up my business but the funds to do so are just not there, as I am now working a job that pays less than 50% of the salary I was previously making (I was unaware that if I had filed for unemployment, I would have likely been collecting my salary amount if not more) 😕

I remember a teacher telling me how Archaeologists would hack off the noses of statues they found in order to remove any indication that it was of a black person or any POC. It hurts me to think of all the art we’ve lost and damaged because of historical revisionism and flat out racism.
