okay since people are confused to what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to the new text editor here’s a handy list of things that work and don’t work so far
Dashback does not work when it comes to the the new text editor. It hasn’t been updated since May, and I don’t know if it’ll be updated again, so don’t install it if you’re looking for it to fix the new text editor.
Classic Editor does not work. I haven’t tested it out, but I believe it does not work properly, since I’ve seen several people say it doesn’t work.
The only extension/script that I’ve seen that has worked is the Tumblr Reblog Fix. If you want to use this, though, you have to install Tampermonkey for Chrome or Greasemonkey for Firefox. I’ve tested it out and it works, however it does sometimes add “my reply goes here” or something like that posts sometimes, but you can easily erase that. Edit: Tampermonkey works on Safari, too, so you can use it on there!
If you don’t feel like installing anything, there is this guide and this guide that’ll show you how to cut posts manually.
I’ll try to update this in case anything else comes out or if new extensions are added/start to float around.
Update (already lmao): The new xkit people have said they are going to try to work on getting an extension up by tonight that fixes the problem, so if you have the new xkit installed, you can watch out for that if it does come out.
Note: If you use Safari, like I do, there’s a Tampermonkey link for safari and if you download that and use the Tumblr Reblog Fix it does work. ( So you don’t have to switch to Chrome or Firefox if you don't want to. )
