Wooh, (old) new diagnosis, new life and a new blog.
I’ve been away a while since I went though my autistic assessments ect. and since I made another blog, I’m gunna stick to using that one.
So if anyone wants to follow my autistic-centered blog and learn a little about being autistic from me and the other autistic people I follow.
it is tiring, being endless political just as someone existing. my teacher asks me if i’m writing more of that “feminist poetry.” a lot of it is just talking about me, being a woman, being afraid in the city. i write about walking a line, about how i am expected to choose between home and work, how each comes with a slew of its own insults; how it feels when i am wearing shorts and there are too many men outside. these are just facts of my life. someone in the comments says, “where are woman even coming up with these crazy generalizations in their feminism?”
i hold hands with the prettiest girl i’ve ever seen and someone sighs when they see me. “do they have to make everything gay?” she asks her friend, loudly, “like, do you have to force those views in my face all the time?” i can’t stop blushing. my girlfriend holds my fingers tighter, tighter, tighter, until my knuckles are white, and i let her. somehow, this is us, protesting.
my father’s cuban blood stains my skin, i think. when i am honored with a position in the dean’s private council, a boy sneers, “you only got in because you’re hispanic.” did i? i spend the rest of our meetings wondering if i was selected for my stellar academic record, for the multiple recommendations, for the clubs i lead - or if i was just a move the dean made, to make use of me. when we all take a picture, the dean brings me in the front. in the first three we take, i am not smiling.
it is odd. “i exist.” i say, “i deserve to exist.”
“oh my god,” he groans, “we get it, you’re a feminist.”
nobody talks about how ugly taking care of yourself can be
yes, sometimes it’s taking a warm bath and texting memes to friends and keeping an aesthetically pretty journal.
sometimes it’s crying silently on your couch at 3am, hugging yourself and reminding yourself that you’re a good person.
self care is not always ‘aesthetic’ and cute…and that’s ok. don’t be embarrassed, just do what you need to do.
This needed to be said.

New rule, non muslims can’t say the word jihad. Until you stop conflating a word that means personal struggle with faith and temptation with terrorism youre just not allowed to say it.

Oh god, finally someone said it. Every time I see words like “jihadist” I want to scream, but I’m not Muslim, so I wasn’t sure I should say anything.
Jihad means struggle. It doesn’t mean holy war or anything like it. In fact, there is no word in Islam for holy war, because the nature of Islam does not leave room for holy war. Islam has a juridical system, not a Pope who can just say “Go wage holy war.” Conflating the personal nature of jihad with violence is so very gross and it needs to stop. Period.
Actually, there’s another word non-muslims in the media shouldn’t use:
Allahu Akbar. It’s not a statement of terrorism. It means “god is great”. It’s something we say to praise our lord. It’s what we say when we pray. It’s not a statement of terrorism. Allahu Akbar doesn’t mean terrorism stop using it as one
If men stopped working…the world would continue on.
If women stopped working, then things would get ugly.

there has been an instance where this happened. it was 1975 and icelandic women decided not to work for one day. working as in cooking, cleaning, taking care of the children, doing chores and so on, not only “not showing up to your workplace”. women did nothing that day, except showing up in reykjavik and protesting for gender equality, equal pay and equal representation in parliament, you know, cool stuff. you know what happened? havoc. men were left with food to cook and children they never took care of to pick up from kindergarden and entertain for the day. they went en masse to the food shops buying sausages because they could cook nothing else, they had to bond with children they never spent more than a couple hours a day with. they struggled combining their work day and the domestic tasks they had to sort out. and this just for one day. iceland in 1975 stopped working and things indeed got ugly. so ugly that women in the following decades became woke AF and soon it happened that women became president, took half of the seats in parliament and achieved one of the best living environments in the world. is your astonishment solved now?

Spending nights awake
as she taunts from my bedside.
My eyes are pleading to her for sleep,
my mind for a second of peace.
Irritated and sore,
I lie in wait of the hour
when I will

The drugs don’t work
I cry,
they are too weak;

Alarms will ring

hands will grasp at my shoulders.
The voices will start to ask questions I wish to avoid.

The brushstrokes were rushed and the colours dark, my thoughts were pouring onto the page like a summer storm. In the form of lines and curves they are masked and encrypted in a code which reads differently to all who view it. I stare to my reflection, my inspiration.

It’s been more than four years since Yvonne McNeil, a 57-year-old homeless lesbian activist, was fatally shot 14 times by New York police officers. On Monday night, roughly 30 activists demonstrated at Grand Central Station to raise the public’s awareness of McNeil’s case. Some say this is part of the "a state of emergency” facing LGBT people of color in NYC.
Planned Parenthood is giving out FREE water filters to Flint residents.
As you might have heard, Flint is currently undergoing a water crises due to negligent city officials.
The crisis is causing elevated levels of lead in children. It is not safe for ANYONE to drink.
Once again, Planned Parenthood comes through for community health.
the entitlement men of all stripes feel to women’s bodies is really something else. and in so many forms too. whether it’s groping us on the street, legislating away our bodily autonomy, thinking our bodies are for sale, insisting lesbians accept dick in their sex lives.. it’s so disgusting and dispiriting. born with a vulva and your body becomes an open debate, a marketplace, a male dumping ground. even men who physically keep their hands to themselves ideologically support men who don’t. this is a man’s world thru and thru and idk what women did to be unlucky enough to land in it
