Found on Thyroid Nation
By Mary Anne Pennington for University of Maryland Medical Center
It’s from my days as a pirate. There was a knife fight. Bar brawl. You should see the other guy. Credits on bottom of image.
I’m very lucky to have her.
I’d rather have a gift of flowers and a day at the spa.
Cancer update: it's positive for follicular carcinoma. Cancer. So Monday December 3rd I go back in to have the other half of my thyroid removed. Then over the next few months I'll have tests done to see if it spread and if I need any radiation treatments.
So there's that. Now you know.
Thank you everyone for the support!
Imma commit some violence next time I hear this crap
About a month ago I found a lump on my neck. An ultrasound, 2 biopsies, and some bloodwork later, and I’ve been diagnosed with an eggsized complex cyst on the right half of my thyroid that is 60% suspicious for cancer.
The day before Thanksgiving I’m having that half of my thyroid removed. They will further test it for cancer and then bring me back in to remove the other half if it comes back positive.
I’m scared. I feel alone even though I know that I’m not. I keep hearing that if you’re going to get cancer you hit the jackpot with thyroid cancer. No chemo!
Regardless, there’s a chance I have cancer. We dont know what kind or if it’s only on my thyroid.
I can be over reacting, the nodule could be nothing. But it doesn’t matter, I’m allowed to feel how I feel.
Sorry for the obvious attention seeking post.
