Womanland Infodump

Considering that we see Womanland in LMK, we know it exists we just don’t know where. After thinking about Xingshen residing there for a few centuries (most likely until she moved to Megapolis after retirement), I thought up some neat headcanons! (Partially inspired by @blutulip & their questions) - Womanland probably goes by a different name now since after stories recounting the westward journey were printed there were probably a bunch of people trying to find their queendom, especially...the less-than-savory types - Free healthcare and the best damn healthcare you’ll ever see! - Being a surrogate probably means a lot of respect since there are so many health risks that go in to being a birth-giver, especially in the mediaeval era when healthcare was...not the best - They probably had a good few WLWs in Womanland, but if anyone did find a husband/life partner, they would be allowed to move in since it would be absolutely ridiculous to close off their population to only femmes. Plus, what if one of the residents found out they were trans? Wtf they gonna do, boot ‘em out? No, that’s dumb. - Pride Month is a massive event :) - I don’t know how Womanland was founded but my personal head-canon will be that after the downfall of a king, his harem decided “Alright ladies, time to rebuild” and here we are - I imagine they largely pray to Guanyin (maternity), Nezha (for their childrens’ protection), and Magu (protective deity of women) - The Queen of Womanland the priest encounters was...not a popular ruler. She didn’t take her rule seriously and mostly piggy-backed off of systems set in place by her predecessors that largely took care of things for her, with only occasional input needed that she pushed off on her ministers - Xingshen more than a few times had to step up to the plate with other nobles to pick up the slack - It’s not that she was malicious, she was just a bimbo - A massively independent queendom since a lot of their resources allow them to be self-sufficient, though they wouldn’t be opposed to trade if the terms were favorable - They are absolutely willing to export the pregnancy and abortion river waters, but it’s likely gonna be expensive since it’s such a valuable resource - Royalty had peacock iconography since the phoenix was reserved for China’s Empress and the peacock symbolizes divinity, power, rank, and beauty, as well as being associated with Guanyin. It’s also referred to as “the earthly phoenix”

I just look at this man and this is what I perceive :) Honestly these headcanons are partially inspired by @lavaflowe b/c I adore their work (go check them out!!) and love love love their Wukong. So dearly. I hold in both hands and feed him treats he looks so scrimbly and scrunkly and gender

Jiaoren Facts

Some fun facts about my version of the Jiaoren & their kingdom!: - Jiaoren have the ability to breathe on the land and sea - They can change their tails easily from aquatic tails to human legs - Jiaoren have freckles with a bioluminescent glow - They can withstand very cold temperatures since their kingdom was very deep within the ocean - They can dwell in both fresh and saltwater - Lower half can be any aquatic being (fish, eel, squid) - Teeth are very sharp for carnivorous purposes - Their vocal cords are structured in such a way that they have a wider range than normal humans do - They cry gemstones, the rarity of which depending on how deep the sadness is - Jiaoren gems are considered extremely precious and are only given as gifts to close friends or family - Jiaoren Pearls enable a mortal to breathe underwater, as such the King and Queen expressly forbade the giving away of these pearls on pain of death - The Jiaoren people are highly gifted in any forms of the arts: weaving, sewing, singing, dancing, painting, acting, playing instruments, etc. - One of their more precious treasures is something called Dragon Yarn, a special type of sea silk - Nobles were expected to study the arts from the moment they begin schooling until they are eventually encouraged to pursue the skills they show most promise in. The more arts you knew, the more intelligent and cultured you seemed - The Jiaoren became very malcontent against the dragons, resenting having to bow to them as the superior beings of the sea who are blessed by Heaven - This lead to a very long war which the Jiaoren eventually lost, leading to the entire kingdom being wiped out (save for Xingshen) - The Jiaoren have bardic-like magic with their songs, either being able to cast actual spells or grand illusions that put visuals to the song’s story. The effects are only as powerful as the mood of the singer. If it weren’t so fickle it’d be used during combat, as such it’s more of a party trick. The effects can be strengthened with more singers, though any less energy would dampen the effects of the illusion - The Jiaoren kingdom was hidden from the public eye via royal magic because of the increased kidnappings at the hands of humans greedy for their tears and arts

Duchess of Womanland Outfit

Decided to post the pizzazz I found while going through Pinterest for an outfit worthy of a Duchess :) This of course is for the more modern look but it’s still glorious imo Fairycore dress,,, and the CLAWS!!! Golden and lovely Womanland is where Xingshen ended up after leaving the sea, she spent a good few centuries there. Nice people, very accepting :D Istg that one Queen the priest encountered was just the bad apple of the royal family. B/c how are you gonna give up ruling a whole queendom for a random dude you just met that day Smh idc what anyone says there were WLWs in that midst. No way all of the women just sat there waiting for men to show up. You’re telling me they didn’t just grab up some weapons & leave? Or that trade wasn’t done to keep the queendom running? The seal was recognizable to other monarchs so it wasn’t a hidden queendom. Conclusion: WLWs

OC Scar Chart

While I cannot draw I did thing this would be an interesting thing to attempt! (Be warned the template does include self-harm scars) I couldn’t think of how to precisely or accurately attempt the wounds so I just scribbled the general area for the leg scars (which star has aplenty) The pink ones are for star’s top & bottom surgeries (trans queen let’s gooo)

Orange ones are from stars time in combat as a General in the Jiaoren Army, with the exception of the head wound

Purple scars are actually from a dragon bite and star will very gladly tell the story of that one.

As for red, as far as anyone who asks is concerned, they are also war wounds.

Spider Demon Headcanons

So I don’t like how spider demons of LMK got thrown to the side and I am here to make headcanons on how I believe they work: - Slightly acidic saliva to help break down food faster - Hybrid Spider Demons have all-sharp teeth (Syntax) - Might have a paralysis venom similar to Komodo Dragons (the longer they bite the more the effects. A few seconds = paralysis, a few more = transformation, but too long and the body gets overloaded with venom and begins to freak out and eventually die) - Spiders have a specific language consisting of clicks and chirps that no one but them understands - Spiderlings exclusively speak in chirps, coos, and clicks because they're too widdle to be able to speak mortal words so this is more effective, though if translated it would be simple phrases like 'I want food' 'Don't like that' 'Want that' etc -Baby spiders are called spoods as an affectionate nickname. I don't make the rules - Spiderling venom can be more fatal since they don't have regulation on the venom output of their bites - Venom does not affect fellow spider demons - They can climb walls/ceilings easily and webbing is about as effective as Spider Man's, though if it's shot out like Spider Man's I'm not sure (not sure I want to know) - Spiderlings have the ability to purr, and no one's gotten brave enough to try petting an adult spider demon to see if they purr as well - High likelihood they can withstand raw meat, though it's not advised - The eyes glow in the dark in the same way colors appear in UV lighting, meaning they can see in the dark - Spiders are very stealthy - Though they can sleep in human beds, most spider demons prefer to use the pillows and blankets to make a sort of nest to sleep in, especially if they're ill - A heavily matriarchal society - Very tight-knit community, the colony is one massive family and everyone has tabs on each other - Though we only see one colony, it's very likely that high-ranking nobles (Princes, Dukes) would head other colonies in the Queen's stead since she can't be everywhere at once - There's likely a Daycare area for the spiderlings, while the spider demons aren't an R-Species the very energetic and agile spiderlings need constant monitoring to make sure they don't get up to shenanigans. What year they get their own room is prooobably about six years old? Or so? Whenever they learn not to chew on furniture. - AFAB spiders have fangs, AMAB spiders have lower tusks. Spiders who want to transition can theoretically get their fangs/tusks removed, but some keep the teeth anyway - Based on the species of the spider they can have certain markings across their bodies, as well as their skin being varying shades of purple - Purebred spider demons have multiple limbs, most likely six arms? Retractable like Stitch's from Lilo & Stitch - Purebred spiders are Really Fucking Tall (7 ft tall being the norm for them) - Purebreds also have six eyes - The artificially created spider demons (Huntsman and Goliath) theoretically could look just like purebreds, but with the Queen having very limited resources the two look ended up looking rather malnourished in comparison, even the Warrior Spider

Hello, got a question about Xingshen! How did they meet Wukong and Macaque? Also, how do they feel out MK being mentored by Monkey King? Are they worries for their safety? It is a big role to fill 🌷

Oh my god this one's fun I imagine Xingshen probably met Macaque around the time star left her home, the Zhēnzhū Capital. Star was in a very emotionally vulnerable state considering this was very fresh after star losing her home in a rather violent, brutal fashion. She was trying to figure out what to do with a lot of emotions, and along came some smooth-talking black-furred monkey that seemed to understand to a degree the confusion that can come with losing everything, and the anger that can be left behind. The relationship was confusing to place, since it seemed there was a healthy flip-flopping between what looked like bullying one another, to friendly bullying, to somehow flirting? Labelling things was left to the wayside, they just vibed, but eventually Xingshen sat herself down and realized that star wasn't really happy with how she was. She was letting her anger and negative emotions get the better of her instead of actively mentally healing, and Macaque feed into that by encouraging her to let loose.(Similar to what he said to MK as his mentor: "Other people are gonna be telling you to be patient. They are slowing you down. You have power inside you. Use it. Take the power and destroy! Remember, you don't use a weapon, you are a weapon!”) Xingshen decided to stop hanging around him by essentially telling him this: "I can be brash, and you can be reckless, and we can both get carried away." As for Wukong? I imagine Xingshen was initially dead terrified of the Great Sage Equaling Heaven who only was trapped by a Buddha's intervention...but upon observing him doing a bunch of endorsement products for the mortals, movies and such, star was surprised to see he was apparently a Silly Lil Guy. Star absolutely got a Monkey Cop T-Shirt signed by him just for no other reason than to say she had one when she realized this man was doing signings at a convention the city held. Did she begin collecting the movies and video games trying to figure out what the hype was? Yes. Yes star did. She has a nice little room organized with things she has purchased. His apprentice confuses star. MK seems to be entirely mortal, yet was given Wukong's staff, his most powerful weapon. Star observed the battles with the Demon Bull Family, MK seemed to have very little if any control over his powers. Star thought it was probably in her best interest to keep a distance...but that changed when star saw Macaque's shadow pop up. Then star decided that if he was hangin' around town it was in stars best interest to make sure the kid knew what he was getting into. The Monkey Child might have a mentor, but a tutor never hurt anyone. Xingshen, in her day, was General of the Jiaoren army, so star knows a thing or two about fighting. If Wukong is Dadkong, Xingshen is the unwilling wine auntie that wants to keep MK out of his divorced dads' drama.
