Been bringing it up a lot but I think a common thing people forget when discussing Verso’s ending is that Lumière was gommaged BEFORE not AFTER the choice is made. Picking Verso can’t be genocide because you can’t kill what’s already dead. It’s about letting them stay dead or remaking them.

One could argue on the other hand that it’s a genocide on the Gestrals but then you have Monoco who implies the gestrals are behind Verso because they appreciate the life he gave them and wish to pay him back.

I just feel bad for every version of Verso. Given some of the stuff Painted Verso says, I do wonder if the real one was battling suicidal thoughts. And that's just extra painful because I've been in that "feeling so ignored that it would be better for everybody if I'm gone." ( And CLEARLY that isn't true given how much pain his family is in )
