I finally did something I said I was going to do for a long time.

I’ve been working on a fic for Dragon Age in screenplay format, and I just posted the pilot episode on Ao3 here.

Is this me just being an annoying film major? Yes. Am I very proud of this and excited to share it? Also yes.

No idea how screenplay is going to go over on Ao3! If it does well, I have more episodes already written and ready to go. If not, I’m still gonna keep writing it for myself, so I’m not pressed. But you never know.

Yes nearly every major game studio is utilizing genAI in some respect and just aren’t telling you, yes using it only for “exploring ideas” (whatever the fuck that intentionally and insultingly vague bullshit means) is likely the mildest of those cases (though it’s still destroying our planet and is theft and contributes to setting a miserable industry standard and no one should be using it anyway and if you do you’re a pussy). But that message being delivered in the interest of “full transparency” by the same snarky fuckheads that used the same patronizing attitude to belittle fans who wanted nothing more than for them to add more content for their only (completely sidelined) black character for two whole fucking years makes Larian especially worthy of every bit of your collective rage.

Just a truly vile level of ego I will never comprehend. You are not infallible because you made a great game. A game whose success was ONLY because of the fans that you continue to spit on, just because they meet you with reasonable and fair criticism. Their continued acknowledgements for achievement in community support only emboldens them and it’s so fucking exhausting. Absolutely no shame. Bleak shit after a week of celebrating a golden year of games and human creativity.

Attitude of a child by the way, this “well we were honest about sticking our hand in the cookie jar! We should get a pat on the back for how honest we were!” Then getting shocked and outraged when instead they are reprimanded for stealing the cookie in the first place. Of course the lesson they may choose to learn from this is “well we just won’t be honest about it next time”. But if they want to double down on being evil dickhead children that’s their prerogative, I guess.
