bruce, given his own experiences of body issues, trying to politely bring up how at odds with his own body steve seems on the daily by being like, "Hey, uh do you ever feel like... your body isn't your body. you know?"
and steve, very genuinely, is like, "oh it isn't though? the government owns it."
Ok, but the tags

@handypolymath I love this
[through gritted teeth] this sure is a fascinating era to have a special interest in cyclonic storms
Screenshot of the NWS weather statements map, accurate as of 3:30pm eastern time on 1/22/26.
If you live in one of the areas of this map that's colored in, you need to go to Weather.gov, search for your local weather station (type your town and state into the search bar at the top left), and read all of the weather statements that have been released for your area. And you need to keep checking them as the storm approaches, because things could change a lot in a short period of time.
There is an unprecedented winter storm that is going to hit well over half of the states in the USA between Friday (1/23/26) and Monday (1/26/26). The Polar Vortex -- an extremely cold and dry air mass that usually lives over the arctic circle -- is going to be stretching down to the Mississippi Valley, where it will encounter a large, humid air mass known as an Atmospheric River. The two will then form a winter storm that, depending on where you are, could drop anywhere from 1+ inch of ice to 12+ inches of snow.
This is a largely-unprecedented winter weather event, so uncertainty about specifics is very high. Listen to your local authorities -- The NWS, Town/City Governments, State Officials, etc -- about how to prepare best for this upcoming storm.
paraphrase, inspired by mary shelley — frankenstein (1818)
And for the most part, thus ends the Panthon storyline... the mount is gone, most of the team is splintered and off doing their own things... and Bruce is not allowed to come back.
Betty and Mercy make a brief stop along the way, and see Bruce... and suddenly Betty isn't so sure she wants to move on; she wants to be there for the man she loves... and so when they start trying to resuscitate her... Mercy loses her grip, and Betty comes back... and that is also enough to give Bruce a moment of clarity, allowing him to escape from the SHIELD ship, and also return to his Professor form...
So the little girl is the spirit of Betty... and Mercy comes with her and talks to her about her mother and father... and when Mercy offers to take Betty to meet her mother, she agrees and goes hand in hand with her, which causes Betty to flatline on the operating table.
Ignore the little girl with the jump rope; we'll get to her next. The important thing here is that Betty is alive, but she is fighting for her life on the operating table... and meanwhile, while Bruce is pretty much defenseless, SHIELD has come to collect him, and Leonard realizes there is literally nothing he can do to stop that.

Please, call me Frankenstein. Frankenstein was my father, but stealing his name and overriding his presence in the dominant cultural consciousness has been really, really satisfying
guillermo del toro said so many insightful and funny things last night at the frankenstein q&a that i started taking notes. these are all direct quotes. i love this man.
The Incredible Hulk (1968) #316
Bruce forwarding Wayne Enterprises advertisement emails to Tim for him to deal with only to realise too late he's actually been sending them to Jason.
He only finds out as he's driving down town and sees a giant billboard reading 'Wayne Enterprises. Our CEO is getting plowed by Superman. Can you say the same for yours?'
Suprisingly, the share price goes up.
(1) Tim knew this was happening. He could have stopped it. Instead he smoothed the way to ensure that Jason's efforts would see print.
(2) This leads to a campaign in Gotham that "Brucie Can Do Better." Because Superman is, of course, from Metropolis and that Cannot Stand. If Brucie Wayne wants a hero, Gotham has a homegrown one he can screw around with: Batman.
(3) Not only does Bruce start to receive letters asking him to break up with Superman and start seeing Batman instead or letters talking up Batman while talking trash about Superman, but Batman starts getting encouraged to ask out Mr. Wayne. Like, criminals will, mid-fight, ask Batman if he's seeing anyone and talk about how he can't let Metropolis win over Gotham by dating Bruce.
(4) Every other bat and bird is 100% into this joke and will banter with the mooks, sharing that Batman is, in fact, single. And discussing ways he could woo Bruce Wayne or that Brucie could woo him.
(5) Since Superman doesn't have an address, a group of young citizens in Gotham pool their money to take out a full page ad in the Daily Planet that is an open letter to Superman telling him he doesn't deserve Bruce Wayne and that he should break up with him immediately.
(6) Lois finds this all incredibly hilarious and during her next impromptu interview with Superman, she asks about Bruce. The wounded look Clark sends her is captured on film and gets memed.
(7) Bruce wants to remove the billboard. His Board refuses. Business has never been so good. Tim makes a motion to entrust outreach and public relations to Jason full-time.
(8) For this reason and this reason only, Jason has regrets.
9) The billboard is across the street from the local LexCorp subsidiary.
10) The citizens at Metropolis is outraged that the people of Gotham thinks Bruce Wayne, nepo baby supreme, is too good for their hero. And creates their own petition to get Superman to break up with him.
11) Clark is horrified to find that everyone keeps suggesting Lex Luthor as a viable alternative.
this "negative" review of guillermo del toro's upcoming frankenstein movie is everything to me
"The Mexican director has chosen to emphasise the romanticism at the expense of the horror. Elordi plays the creature as a misunderstood, James Dean-like outsider with Oedipal issues rather than as an agent of evil and chaos. Even if his face and torso are latticed with suitably grotesque scars, staples and stitches, he is not only the most sympathetic character in the movie but the best-looking one too. It’s left to Oscar Isaac to provide the real villainy as the brilliant but egomaniacal scientist, Victor Frankenstein..."
HELLO YES IT'S ME, MARY SHELLEY CALLING, JUST WANTED TO ASK IF YOU'VE EVER SEEN A GUILLERMO DEL TORO MOVIE OR... I DON'T KNOW... READ MY BOOK?
"The film lurches between scenes of lush romantic melodrama and moments of Grand Guignol bloodletting."
*bangs fists on table* SIGN! ME! THE! FUCK! UP!
"You drink lemonade? Ugh. Enjoy your lemon-water-sugar concoction, idiot."
Thank you, I will. It's why I ordered the lemonade.
wow. you liked godzilla? the movie where a huge monster rampaged through a city and killed thousands and thousands of people? you thought it was cool? you think it's cool when vulnerable urban populations are decimated? you literally condone mass death? :/
superman, an undocumented immigrant being accused of representing some greater political agenda, made a political target after opposing an illegal occupation of an entire country, gets thrown into a secret and unlawful prison by a billionaire and tortured while the people in his life are put at risk. james gunn i knew you had the sauce but this. next fucking level. i love superman (2025)
