you ever think that Grace acted brave because he was under the assumption that he was? because until he regained the memory that he begged not to be forced on the mission he assumed he chose to be brave and go on the mission despite the dangers and the near hundred percent chance he would die in space. So he assumed he was brave so he made brave choices and decisions. Yet the bravest choice he made was after he realized he was a coward.
yayyyy
still thinking about zinru and eyes
bonus osaka expo mascot (he would love it)
ilya showing how much he loves shane in front of his parents will always make me cry. he does it without hesitation. comforting him, speaking so easily and openly about their relationship, "you would leave boston for shane" "yes". he is the loverboy of all time. he's meant to be on the verge of tears with love, eating pasta at his in-laws. this is what he was meant for. the uninhibited displays of emotion and vulnerability and how none of it seems to phase him, none of it is forced. he has wanted a chance to love shane so openly and he's been given it and he is taking it all.

Ryland Grace swears in the book exactly one (1) time and it's when he sees Rocky's ship
"what is this BABY doing in space!???"
-Rocky, probably
GO HARD OR GO HOME.
Bruce Wayne is best viewed through the lens of “holy shit your parents were genuinely so hot, insanely charismatic, wild, and hot and do whatever the fuck they want, and then they combined their DNA??????? they made one person out of that??” because then you truly understand he’s just Like That.
it’s not even that he’s doomed to be the main character. he’s just the product of two stars collapsing into each other while also fucking the butler along the way. that man was never going to have a normal life.
As a Greek, in response to the current controversy about Matt Damon being cast as Odysseus, I'd just like to share that one of the moments that changed my brain chemistry as a kid was reading a novelized version of the Odyssey and coming across the following description of Odysseus when Circe sees him for the first time and thinks he's hot: "his hair curled like a clematis and his eyes were very brown".
So may I present my own casting choice for Odysseus:
Excuse me???
you are right and you should say it.
Is this the face of a man who would put his own infant in front of a plow to avoid going to war?
Absolutely not
You know who would try that shit?
Is this the face of a man who would defy the very gods to get home to his wife?
You know who would defy the gods just to show he could get away with it?
Found Sabrina (1954) on the internet archive under the noir section despite it being a romcom, so my question to you: which noir would you reimagine as a romcom? Or if you'd rather, which romcom would you reimagine as a noir?
i'm a sicko in that i think a lot of film noirs are romcoms, and genre in general is a joke, because what do you mean The Big Sleep isn't a sweet little film about two cigarette-guzzling cuties getting together over a couple of bodies? Notorious is supposed to be mostly scary when it's got Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant looking at each other like that for what feels like forty five minutes? Meanwhile Doris Day is starring in an ostensible romcom called Lover Come Back that coats its horror in painted candies and pastels and that's supposed to be romance? I'll take the bodies, thanks.
(i appreciate this question but I just think every discussion of genre can never really support itself, because there are exceptions to so many rules.)

I see your “Rocky swears like a sailor but only in pitches humans can’t hear/refuses to teach Grace what those words mean” and raise you “Rocky swears like a sailor and now has to explain to Grace that ‘bad bad bad’ isn’t actually a sequence you play on your Eridian speech piano in polite company.”
Grace is both horrified and amused to realise that a more accurate translation for what Rocky’s been saying is “shit shit shit”.
Eridian government representative: Greetings Rocky, Saviour of Erid, and Grace, Saviour from Beyond the Stars. We are pleased to welcome you home.
Grace, haltingly on the keyboard Rocky built for him: Wassup bitches. Fucking jazzed to—
Rocky: GRACE STOP TALKING NOW NOW NOW I EXPLAIN LATER
Going by the Space=Ocean metaphor, that makes Rocky a sailor as well as being a mechanic (same logic goes for R2-D2). Every third musical note coming out of them should be profanity.
(Yes this technically means Grace is a sailor too, but he's freshly press-ganged and hasn't adapted to it like someone who chose the job)
