The walk towards the art room was nearly repetitious. Even with his eyes closed and his current location on campus a mystery, he could still find the particular room. With its glass walls that radiated sunlight into the room and the constant fume of paint lingering in the air, it was possibly the most distinguishable area on campus, and his most memorized. His fingers ran across the cement walls of the building, the one that would be covered by the end of the year with projects from his fellow classmate, he tucked into the art room, offering nothing but a nod of nonrecognition as he caught his teachers gaze, following her pointed finger towards the pile of past projects that had yet to be claimed. âHey,â he called, only vaguely surprised to see that Cate had beat him to the cut. As if on cue, the expected question flitted from her lips, causing a shrug from the male. "It was alright,â he answered. âGot a new bikeâsurprisingly. Yours?" he asked, falling by her side as he searched the pile for his work.
( / cate nodded at his response as she picked another one of hers from the pile. she hummed a bit in acknowledgement as well and mulled over the last few days in her head. everything had been frustrating, irritating, and just all around shitty as usual ) uh, not so great, but the holidays are never the best anyway. ( / cate tried to keep the tone light, but she can only smile half-heartedly at her response; she didn't want to think about it right now. flipping over one of her canvases, she checked the slip of paper taped to the back and read the short feedback on it ) hmm, thought this painting was pretty good. guess not that good. ( / she said the last part under her breath to keep out of ear shot of her teacher. she glanced over at sawyer with a new interest as he shuffled through the pile ) you never showed me your midterm piece. can i see it?
