001 // dani & austin
Dani opened her mouth to protest when Austin chucked his cup over the side of the roof, because that was hardly eco-friendly, but when she peered over the edge, she saw that at least twenty more red cups littered the lawn. The girls cursing up at them made her smile slightly and she leaned back to listen to Austin’s list. She was mildly impressed. It wasn’t often that she met someone who had been to more places than she had. Really, Dani hadn’t been to that many states, but it was always more than other people. She mapped out Austin’s trail in her head, and nodded to herself. “California’s nice,” she murmured absently. “Texas isn’t too bad, but the people there can be a little much. I don’t think I’ve been to the other states you mentioned,” she said. She smiled, a little easier now that the alcohol had had time to sink into her system. “Where’s your favorite?”
“Yea, Texas wasn’t my favorite. Even if the girls were pretty hot.” Austin grinned mischievously, shot Dani a wink as he draped his arms over his drawn-up knees. “California was definitely the best. Everyone is so nice there.” The boy remembered all the time he’d spent in LA, San Diego, lounging on the beach and learning to surf. Drinking the best microbrewed beers and smoking the most incredible weed. Austin knew that if he were to ever settle somewhere, it would be California. “Are you planning on traveling after you graduate?” he asked curiously, finding and holding Dani’s gorgeous cerulean eyes.
