Looking up Homeless shelters.
Have you ever had to look up available shelters for the homeless? I did, I did that tonight. What I thought was going to be a normal night where me and my boyfriend are out to dinner, totally changed. As we were walking out of the restaurant, a man yells out "Excuse me sir, are you familiar with the Sacramento Area?" My boyfriend tells him we are and he proceeds to explain to us his situation. He needed help looking for a shelter, and I want to note that it was already 10:30pm and it gets really cold in Sacramento. I felt so bad because he looked like any normal person you would see, he didn't look Homeless at all, in fact he actually is working in Sacramento but is from Georgia. As we looked up countless shelters, I realized it was tough to survive in Sacramento, they mainly cater to Women, Women with children, Women who survived violent relationships, Children up to age 12, Men with Children and Men who have a disability. But even with that, it was minimal, and with the ones we did find for him, he had already gone to and they told him there is a waiting period minimum 4 weeks. I was so saddened. I pray for humanity, I don't care if he was a scam, he heart was so pure and I always see the good in people. There are people out in the world who just had bad luck in life and ended up on the streets, whether it was divorce or losing a job ... it's not easy. I always try to help anyone I see on the streets, because I can. I pray that things will get better all the time..... tonight made me realize we are so far away from it..
