the gif of czj in a red dress black jacket, whereโs that from? is there more gifs?
// It's from their FYsee Wednesday event from may ( heres the youtube link ) and all gifs on this page are made by me, so it's just the one's posted.
Cate let out a soft, genuine laugh even as she shook her head in quiet disbelief at the whole situation. Her bright blue eyes finally held Catherineโs without hesitation, the earlier surprise giving way to something gentler, almost tender. โEngaging mentor?โ she repeated, her Australian accent curling warmly around the words. โHigh praise, coming from you. Though I suspect Carys would have found her way with or without me. That girl has fire.โ She paused, glancing toward the now-empty stage where the lights were beginning to dim. The applause had faded into a low murmur of voices and shifting seats, but the charged little bubble around them remained. Cateโs fingers absently traced the edge of her program, a small tell of nerves she rarely showed in public. โI had no idea either,โ she admitted, her voice dropping to that intimate register they used to share so easily. โShe told me her mother was โvery busyโ and probably wouldnโt come tonight. She is a great actress, clearly she inherited more than just talent from you.โ A playful glint appeared in her eyes as she tilted her head slightly. โThe scheming, the impeccable timingโฆ Iโm almost impressed. Almost.โ Her expression softened then, the humor giving way to sincerity as she met Catherineโs gaze again. She found herself looking down a little shy, something not usual for the blonde. The fact they were breathing the same air, sharing the same space and that the intimacy of the place obligated them to exchange soft brushes, touches and brief gazes that were impossible to ignore. Cate felt her corporal temperature to increase as the room seemed smaller. As much as she tried to focus on the play, her senses were still focused on each movement and reacting from the woman next to her. There they were, those feelings that Cate tried to ignore and erase forever, they were alive and more real than she thought.
Cate cheered and gave a standing ovation when the play ended. She was proud of the whole company and especially of Cary. As the last of the audience filtered out into the foyer, the backstage area slowly emptied of well-wishers. Carys appeared again, still in her stage costume pieces, practically vibrating with adrenaline. She threw her arms around her mother first then turned to Cate with a bright, slightly guilty grin. โBest night ever.โ Cate raised an eyebrow at her, half-amused, half-exasperated. Carys only laughed, unrepentant, and kissed her motherโs cheek. She gave them both a mischievous look "we're having dinner at The Everdene. you two are coming. I am going to change and we can leave" Cary left and left Catherine and Cate waiting for her at the corridor that was quieter now. Dimly lit. Intimate in a way the theater seats hadnโt allowed. Cate slipped her hands into the pockets of her tailored coat, suddenly aware of how close they were standing. She looked at Catherine for a long moment, the weight of months and unsaid things hanging between them. โWellโฆโ she said softly, almost hesitantly. โI suppose that was a command and not a suggestion... this is the part where we accept we pretend weโre just two proudโฆ whatever-we-areโฆ of the same brilliant girl.โ A small, vulnerable smile touched her lips. โOr we could skip the pretending. Itโs been a long time, Cath. You lookโฆ good. Really good.โ She let the silence sit for a beat, "I am glad to see you much better than last time" she added and pretended to be looking around, the pictures hanging on the wall, the long corridor filled with them as she waited nervously with her hands still in her pockets and suddenly her eyes met Catherine's and she smiled at her, genuinely, from the heart as she was really happy to see her beaming again.
There were a thousand things Catherine was saying to Carys in her mindโan entire lecture she was certain she would deliver to her daughter in due time. Yet, any lingering frustration dissolved in the radiant light of the young womanโs joy. Carys simply lit up at the sheer presence of both women. Catherine watched as her daughterโs eyes swept the audience, catching them both on their feet, cheering her on; there was a triumphant twinkle in the girl's gaze that spoke far more eloquently than words ever could. Of course, the reality of the situation remained, she was trapped in a tiny room beside a woman she had, once upon a time, loved. Yet despite the awkwardness, the subtle, electric brushes of their skin, and the familiar flutter in the Welsh woman's stomach, there was a priceless comfort in maintaining this easy civility for their daughter's sake. In fact, if Catherine were completely honest with herself, she had grown almost entirely used to the sensation. Sitting next to Cate felt... nice. Calm. How even when the woman teased her about her daughters scheming talents, she'd practically chuckled under her breath. And for a few fleeting moments in the dark, she had almost managed to forget.
For a genuine, fleeting second, Catherine let her smile rest fully upon Cate. Her expression softened, warmed by the undeniable fact that Cate was sharing this exact, profound sense of pride with her. It was a feeling she couldnโt entirely dissect in the middle of a crowded room, but it was the most vulnerable, open look she had managed to give the blonde in months. Letting out a soft, lighthearted sigh, Catherine accepted the reality of the trap. "I have to admit," she began, a hint of a hum in her throat, "I am far too hungry, and in desperate need of a glass of wine, to have the energy to pretend otherwise. And don't worry โ I am perfectly fine with a little wine tonight." She added that last part with a knowing tilt of her head, leaving Cate to read between the lines. Her gaze peered to the side of the room, taking in the ambient chatter and laughter of the theater crowd, just as Cate murmured a quiet, softening compliment in return. Hearing those words, Catherine's lips pressed into a lingering grin. "It... has been a long time," she agreed softly. She paused, her eyes locking onto Cate's with a sudden, devastatingly honest clarity. "And you also look really good... darling." It didnโt feel odd on the surface; Catherine called almost everyone by those elegant pet names. But directed at the woman beside her, the word of affection carried an entirely different weight, echoing with the ghosts of their past. "Listen," Catherine continued, her voice dropping into a smooth, commanding ease. "How about we just enjoy the dinner? Enjoy catching up, and enjoy the fact that my daughterโs little plan seemed to work in whatever way she wanted it to. I am willing to just... have a night I havenโt had in far too long. If you are." And just like that, the silent standoff dissolved. Side by side, both women began walking toward the exit, stepping out into the cool, New York City air where the driver Catherine had arranged for the evening was already waiting at the curb. "Change of plans, i need you to drop us to the everdeen" The welsh woman announced towards the driver.
The restaurant was only a couple of blocks away, a short drive even with the city traffic. Sitting in the back seat beside the blonde, Catherine caught tiny, fleeting glimpses of her through the rearview mirror. It was the complete opposite of their last ride together in the back of a car โ that night when Cate had been sick with worry, and Catherine had been practically unconscious on the way home. This wasnโt that. There was no dread tonight, no suffocating anxiety. Of course, the scars of the past didn't just magically disappear; it wasnโt, and never would be, that easy. But this, a simple dinner to celebrate a young woman they both adored, carried a mutual purpose that felt genuinely meaningful.Even with the occasional, quiet pockets of silence along the way, the tension dissolved the second the cool breeze hit their faces outside the restaurant. Catherine offered Cate a gentle, reassuring nod as they headed inside to find their reservation.Once seated, Catherine automatically settled in, making herself perfectly comfortable before leaning forward slightly "I do still need to hear the full story of how my daughter went behind my back and practically enrolled herself in your very exclusive teaching lessons, darling," she said. The heavy atmosphere was entirely gone, replaced by a light, teasing warmth. "And how you've been..."
@cathzejones
that is not a half bad idea and something i think that i am going to start doing. that is something that we have in common! it can be hard to try to fit everything in that you want. i was wondering if you were then! i did manage to make it! i was surprised, but oscar and i both did. i wish that i could have, but i didn't. i hope that we will find ourselves in the same place soon! midway point? already? i cannot wait to see you in these gowns and will try to not feel jealous. those gowns? to die for! i love the fact that you are using the word kookier. i hope that they will listen to you and invited even more legendary women. there are so many that would love to take part in it! i bet that she put so much work into it and it's a lot. i know when my family saw me doing my first big play, it must of felt that that for them. oh! so my two, my daughter is seven, my son is eight and oscar's boys are nine and six. so all very close! it is, but we can't really help it. plus i did get word that apple is finally going to be releasing the project that was shelved and i'm so happy!
There's an extra added bliss when you've forgotten you've got a massage appointment and get a reminder, it's god send, darling. And believe me, i was there in great spirit living though everyone's photos, and sulking in my trailer about it. You looked devine, by the way, as always. You and i both, i need to be in the south of italy somewhere, just pure peace. I know, i'm as surprised about it as you are. I feel like we just started, it's insane. Oh it's exactly why i put it in my contract from day one, they're mine after we completely finish up. Even if all i'm doing is rewearing her gowns around my house, it'll make cleaning far more glamorous. And "kookiers" the tamiest word, you can imagine with all this family drama about to unfold, tish is the one who need's a massage. And if we're any bit lucky to continue on for another season after this, i'm adding your name into the pot of legendary woman i want taking over our set, there's nothing i love more then that energy outnumbering the call sheets. The addams family is a big lineage, there's room for everyone. You wouldnโt even believe, but she really did. Tear's were shed, and my heart was certainly proud. Oh my ! such sweet ages. I miss when they were that small, but i imagine it's still a handful with such a blended family. I'd been wondering about that project of yours, and they would've been fools for not bringing more of your genius out into the world, so i'll be very tuned in.
It is a bit odd that after all this time that I've spend in the industry that I've yet to cross paths with you in the way of getting to work together. It's on my bucket list, should the right project ever come along. I've always been a huge fan of your work and would love to see that happen. You'd like to do a musical? Count me in. Don't even have to send me the script, it could be the tiniest part and I've be in. Tick, Tick.. Boom was a great experience and I loved every moment of it. Are you saying it's a comfort movie for you, because I'd be honored.
It's bloody ridiculous, darling ! I think if we're both mutually on each others bucket lists, it's bound to happen. I'm blaming my agent, and the universe for failing us thus far. And yes, that's dramatic, but so's showbiz. It's fitting. I'm also incredibly flattered. I mean, i owe a lot of my career to Chicago, and i'm surely not getting any younger and these legs can still kick as high... but i'd love to do another musical. And we both know when it comes to these "musical" adaptations, it's hit or miss. There's no in between, and oh please, darling... there's no "small part" if you're involved, i won't allow it. We're leading together. This is where i have to ask if you have any "dream" musical role, if by chance it happens. That'd entirely what i'm saying, it's mine and my daughters...and there's never a dry eye by the end, you're just such a pure light on that screen.
i'll admit, in the beginning i didn't. to me the idea of wanting to scare yourself was actually weird to me, but acting in so much of it now, i've definitely found myself watching more of horror and even some thrillers. art the clown is now a favourite character for me even. oh, haha, well you're welcome โ means i did a good job. i've become quite the fan as time has went on and tend to watch it on and off in my free time. mostly more into true crime stuff though over actually watching a lot of horror and thrillers though but definitely still enjoy them.
In that case, add-on question, darling โ do you find you're a little more "immune" to getting jumpy when watching these horror films, or is it like a thrill seeking, thing. I unfortunately, against my will know who art the clown is, and i think the more gruesome stuff just isnโt for me. I still just at the bad CGI in Jaws, it's bad. You'll just haunting my nightmares, but affectionately. Now see, true crime is a whole different ball park, and there's plenty documentary's that'll hook me in....but then some, i just don't know how people can watch them and sleep like babies afterwards. And i'm truly trying to be less of a scardy cat, so recommendations still welcome, i'll only be doing this to myself.
Billie: I know, we were something. Hey, in my defense Iโd still fight for you! Haha howโve you been though? Last we spoke things were rocky for you. Update me. Anything since Cancun with cate?
CATHERINE: I know you would, darling. I know you would - but we're not as young and sturdy as we were all those years ago, no more jumping off stages for me, but i DO want those photos. Can you imagine, though ? we were worrying more about partying, and sex and now we're worrying about not breaking a hip. I'm better. In small ways, of course, but better. Things are still occasionally odd, but...we were cornered and set up by my daughter. Cary's had her debut on stage about a week ago in new york, which of course any proud mother's flying over to see her. I just wasnโt told by said darling daughter, she'd taken my phone, gotten cates number and had been basically getting mentored by her. Which, that all aside...she invited me on the same night she invited cate. It was...friendly, of course. we all went to dinner at cary's invite. We just chatted, billie. It was strange, like i hadnโt actually talked to her like an actual person in months. And that was it, whatever it means. But i also made a promise to myself i wouldnโt continue to drive myself mad over it.
There you go again... and yup, the effect is still the same. you can be happy now, i am still shivering a little whenever you act like that. that's kinda mean cath. It's not fair for someone like me. why do you want to stop? i mean โI didn't as you to stop. Two weddings in the last two weeks and I didn't see you at any of them. what a shame!! is it because you're working on your morticia spell and charms? or because you hate weddings? โkeep up with these yoga sessions. they work because you look incredible. how is your daughter doing? i remember last time i saw her, she was so cute and nice. oh yes, i do! i love to watch crime shows before bed and it's even better when my mind gets busy thinking about it instead other things i am not supposed to think about. do you want pics? i can send you some pics of how the working out sessions, diet and hard work are paying result. now, arms, back, waist, butt... everything is looking bigger and nicer lately. i am proud of it. feelings for him? like being in love? nope, definitely there's no love involved here anymore.
I'm ridiculously happy now darling, thank you โ You're calling me mean and asking me why i'm stopping ? oh i see how it is. Don't worry, i can still make you 'shiver' in moderation, eiza. You don't need to be so needy. Know that i said that with a giant kiss attached to it, chรฉrie. And just know, i've had the biggest amount of "fomo" as one could ever achieve, i mean that. I've been working. And that isnโt some excuse, i easily would've caught that next flight to italy given the chance. Now even Moriticas charming woes, were able to get me there. And despite my current romantic failures, i adore weddings. The bigger the better. And for you, i won't stop. But Cary's is doing so wonderful, you wouldnโt even believe how much of a young woman she's grown into. Between seeing her thrive, and her passion with theatre, it's just what every mother wants to see...and she's the same tiny sweet diva, despite that cute smile underneath. I'm almost jealous my mind can't get busy with crime shows, but i'd lose sleep. Well if you're offering darling, who am i to decline ? It might even give me some extra motivation, and a very nice sight. Then you know what, good. I know it's not easy to see a past love in such a way, and having it hold memories, but there's also a level of power to being able to tap into knowing there's no part of you being controlled by emotions over him. Now, it still is an annoying situation, so i'm offering us to grab drinks again soon, even if those drinks for you need extra protein.
That is so true and I can definitely see it. I like thinking about how life was in the late 90s and early 00s because like you said the stories we can tell the kids of today would be interesting and exciting. Listen, saying 'back in my day' is valid though. Because life was literally so different then. We can't relate to kids growing up in this day in age. Even if we tried? We just wouldn't. Just telling you the truth! I use to watch that film soo much as a child. Pretty sure that I made my mom sick of it, but I didn't care. You would vote me to play Elena?? Oh gosh, that would be such an honor. I do, however, hope they don't ever touch the masterpiece. Not going to lie, I always thought you were hispanic or latina. Ah, thank you so much for the kind words! I can't say that I've ever done sword fighting, but I'd be willing to learn. Now that I'm a grown adult, I can agree with my mother and say that the phones are the problem. There are many pros and cons to having them, for sure. We had peace without them, but if you're a parent now? It just makes you feel a peace of mind. I would be shocked if there was a club that had a no phone policy. But even then, how would you know everyone is following the rule in the moment. The film itself is so damn good and one of my top favorite films. Oh god, that's such a hard question! But it would be Drew Barrymore. She was such a fucking 90s icon.
It's so oddly amusing โ because for me, even those memories don't seem so far away. And then i remind myself my own children are the exact same age i was within the mid to late 90's and that's exactly when i realise life is most definitely different. I think you'll always have that longing for times prior to now, and i think we're gonna see a resurgence of that more and more with the younger generations. Not even just within the fashion trends, but everything. Oh darling, i take that as the utmost compliment ! and i mean it, as much as i may roll my eyes at those hollywood remakes, if i had a say...i'd be happy to hand her over to you, with pride. You'd keep her alive and safe, with a new lease of life. And i mean, that wardrobe of hers was to die for. You can also imagine the press did too during the premiere and all i could do was nod and smile as they spoke to me in spanish, i could've said "yes" to anything. Well, even if elena is bit an wishful dream, if you ever have the itch to learn, i'd love to offer up my sword fighting lessons. It's a very effective arm workout. I can very much confirm darling, there's quite a few clubs i know in the likes of germany that do. Just strict no phone policies or they keep them locked in protective pouches. Which, i can see the appeal. When i'm not looking through my motherly lens. But the on the other side of it, all i want is for my children to be safe and just experience life as much as possible in an age of unfortunate amount of looking at phones. Drew ! okay, that's such a perfect answer. Miss Barrymore was definitely the queen of 90's fashion, i think i'd be stealing her wardrobe too โ I wish i had. I kept so many designer pieces for my daughter, even before i fell pregnant and there's this internal cool meter you gain when you're giving them vintage pieces. And i just know Drews children are about to realise that some day soon.
It's really been that long? Well, now I feel terrible about that one. We got married in Vegas so it was quite a typical sort of wedding there. We had a little honeymoon in Paris but cause we were both needing to work after. Now I get to play the groupie while she does some festivals in Europe.
Forever and a day too long, darling ! but life happens, and that's nobodyโs fault. It just means i fawn all about it now. I'm such a sucker for those extravagant weddings, even if it's within vegas. Did you two do the whole "little white chapel" ? Straight to the city of love, how very dreamy, ma cherie. I love hearing you two got to take advantage of that in between time, but you know that absolutely means you have good reason to have occasional "mini" honeymoons now to split them up, very good reason. oh there's nothing more fun then being a playing the groupie, how long do you get to travel along with her or are you able to stay the entire tour ?
Perhaps Cate had been naรฏve. Stupidly naรฏve. The possibility of meeting Catherineโor simply running into her during this processโhad never once crossed her mind. She had guided and supported Cary throughout the entire experience with no ulterior motives. She had done it out of her genuine love for mentoring young actors and because Cary had shown a sincere desire to improve and deliver the best debut possible. The excitement in Cary's messages had been infectious, and Cate had been genuinely thrilled to play a small part in that journey. Now, standing in that cramped backstage space, she suddenly felt caught off guard. She needed a few silent seconds to process what she was seeing. Cary's mother was there. And Cary's mother happened to be the woman she had spent far too long grieving. An automatic smile spread across her face. Almost instinctively, she slipped into her public personaโthe polished performer who always knew exactly how to behave. There was undeniable joy in seeing Catherine again. She looked well. Relaxed. Happy. Cate was grateful for that, and she wouldn't have wanted to disturb it in any way.
Stepping back slightly to give them space, she watched as Cary wrapped her in a quick hug before leaving. "Break a leg, sweetheart," Cate said warmly, her voice carrying an almost maternal tenderness. As Cary disappeared, Cate desperately scanned the room for another empty seatโanywhere that wasn't beside the dark-haired woman. Unfortunately, the small theater was packed. There wasn't room for another person. Resigned, she quietly took the seat next to Catherine. For several moments, silence settled between them. Cate kept herself occupied with her phone while they waited for the performance to begin, typing a few notes she wanted to remember. Then she heard Catherine's voice. Smooth. Calm. Discreet. Just as she remembered. A faint smile appeared on Cate's lips at the mention of mentor. She simply nodded, not quite daring to look up, silently agreeing with the observation. Then something clicked. Cate suddenly looked at Catherine, genuine surprise flashing across her face. "Do you think..." she asked, lowering her voice despite her unmistakable Australian accent. "Do you think it was intentional? Part of some elaborate plan?" She paused, considering it for all of two seconds before shaking her head. "No... no, I don't think so." The thought became so absurd that she burst into laughter, still trying to process the coincidence. "Don't apologize, honey. That wasn't the case..." She tilted her head, a playful hint of doubt creeping into her expression. "...Or was it?" Still visibly astonished, her bright blue eyes finally met Catherine's, filled with questions and quiet disbelief. "No way."
Catherineโs eyes subtly scanned Cate's body language, tracking the effortless shift in her posture with each tiny, telling flinch of realization. It was clear to Catherine that Carys wasn't nearly as innocent as whatever sweet ploy she had used to win Cate over. After all, the girl was her mother's daughter. "Unfortunately, it wouldnโt surprise me," Catherine added dryly, her brow slowly arching. "She invites us both on the same evening. Tells neither of us. I had no idea she was even in contact with you, let alone..." She paused, letting the weight of the word settle. "...mentoring." She gestured faintly to their surroundings. "The venue is packed to the rafters, and she just so happens to have us cornered off together." Laying it out so clearly put the whole theatrical scheme into perspective, and a sudden, quiet amusement flickered through the Welsh woman. "She might be a good actress, darling, but I'm afraid weโve been set up" Catherine finally let her gaze drift back to the blonde, the corner of her mouth lifting into a slight, softened grin โ disarmed, and undeniably friendly. But then, movement across the room caught her attention. There was Carys, silently peeping from afar. The moment their gazes locked, Catherineโs eyes narrowed in warning almost. The young woman didn't look remotely guilty; instead, she flashed her mother a look of absolute, zero-innocence triumph before quickly darting away to join the rest of her cast.
A sudden wave of relief washed over Catherine, knowing that for the next hour or so, neither of them had to converse, or struggle to find the right words to say. Yet, even as her mind filled with absolute focus and intense pride for her daughter, the darkness offered no real escape. Every few minutes, a subtle, accidental shift would happen โ their arms lightly brushing, or their shoes catching against one another as they adjusted in the cramped seating. Which Catherine occasionally rolled her eyes over. Externally, the Welsh beauty remained a picture of perfect composure, her eyes locked onto the floor towards her, entirely engaged with the play. Internally, however, those fleeting, accidental contacts felt like starved kisses presented to her at her weakest moment. A single, unintended touch of a foot was enough to send a jolt through her entire body, making her heart ache with a bittersweet longing the exact second after it made her stomach jump. It was a silent torture. One that brought the tiniest smile hovering over her lips. One for her daughter, of course, born of pure maternal pride. But it mixed in with something else entirely, bleeding into the awareness of the blonde sitting next to her.
As the play came to a close and the cast took their final bows, Catherine was already on her feet, clapping enthusiastically. She blew proud, sweeping kisses toward Carys, who was beaming back at both women from the stage. Once the young cast finally faded into the wings and the applause began to taper off, Catherine softly turned toward Cate. A lighthearted, almost weary sigh escaped her lips. "I suppose... despite my daughterโs shameless scheming," Catherine paused, letting her gaze rest fully on the blonde, "you have proven to be a rather engaging mentor for her." Those simple words were entirely stripped of pretense, carrying a quiet, heavy sincerity. "So... thank you." Because for once, in a very long time, it wasnโt about the two of them. It wasn't about the history, the silence, or the ache. It was simply about the young woman who wanted nothing more than to have both of them right there, watching her.
Billie: I miss you @cathzejones I was going through some old photos and came across a bunch of us. It dawned on me that we were really that rock n roll couple haha
CATHERINE: cara mia, i miss you even more - but your little trip down memory lane is about to have me missing those young rascals in the photos. We defied the rock'n'roll part with the many fights i recall you'd get in over me, but what a time.
It really does, mama. Sometimes our work can be hectic and we can have a long day on set, so starting it off just with relaxing is exactly what we need. I am so happy that we are both on the same page about making sure that we stay this close even when the show comes to an end. This bond I know is going to live on, and I will make sure of it. If somehow I don't hear from you for over a week, I am going to be at your place outside. It's just a given, so I apologize in advance and please don't call the police on me.
Like i've told you previously, Jenna...i'd be your spirit guide long after, you're not getting rid of your mama that easily. It just makes my heart a lot happier then you never wish to. If you don't hear from me in over a week, assume two things. I'm either stuck somewhere and need help, or i'm at a golfing retreat. I'll just give you a spare key, just in case. Anyway, did you and sabrina attend the wedding in italy, my darling. I've been so busy between filming wednesday and other things, i was so sad to miss it.
that is exactly the feeling i'm familiar with! i feel like i can barely keep the days straight, but i show up where i'm needed. i don't honestly think i know how to handle slow. though i don't mind it! we really do keep missing each other. i hope that we can! i heard that it's getting another season, and cannot wait to see the direction that goes. the shock when you get back from vacation is jarring! you're daughter is performing broadway? that is exciting! of course you are, that is what us mothers do! if any of my kids wants to follow our path? i'm going to be there to be the annoying and loud parent. i have been good! working a lot, trying to squeeze in time with the kids, oscar and i just keep saying yes to projects even though i probably shouldn't.
It's why i always make sure i have a "massage" booked in advance for my slow, unscheduled days or else i just never know what to do with myself. As much as i enjoy when things do simmer down, it's just that bit hard after you're everywhere all at once occasionally. And i was sad i even missed the wedding in Italy, did you attend ? And more importantly, did you extend the stay, darling ? Anyway, we'll find ourselves in the same place, i'm trusting luck on this one. It is ! We're currently at the midway point in filming and not to be bias, especially with these fabulous gowns they've giving me this season...but it's even juicer. Kookier, honestly. And that's not even beginning with all these glamorous guest stars we've gotten, i just wanted to keep nagging them to keep adding more legendary woman. I mean i was spoilt with gaga last season. She just finished her run, and getting to see how much work she put into this role; it really makes you realise it's such a priceless thing to witness, seeing your child be so passionate about something they love. As you should, my darling. We'll be there with the camera in their face afterwards. How old are your kids ? It's our greatest weakness, but as someone who will forever admire your work and everything you do, it's just a treat for the rest of us.
I couldn't agree more with you there. What I miss the most is the effort that we all made to see one another in person. We didn't have cell phones to depend on, and social media didn't get in the way. Listen queen, I've been adoring you for years and years. When I saw you in 'The Legend of Zorro'?? Wanted to be you so bad. But ugh, I bet partying in the 90s was a lot of fun and so care free. You didn't have to worry about people bringing out a cell phone to snap photos of you while having fun. I don't think clubs and bars are what they use to be. Club culture...is there but not fun at all. I would have loved to been in my 20s in the 90s, but alas. The world as a whole is so incredibly different and truthfully, I think we've all lost the plot of how life should be. Ohh, my 90s/00s fantasy? It would be to party at the Roxbury in Hollywood.
It gave us time to just breathe and take things in at a pace our minds were built for. It's no wonder the best stories and tales pre-date the digital age, there was just a far greater level of excitement. And not to sound all "back in my day" because i never want to become that old, grump who can't get with the times, but it's just purely truth. Ma Cherie, you're too kind. And granted, if they ever dare retouch that film, and do a generational remake, if i have any say in it whatsoever, i'm voting you play Elena. I think i shocked too many press back in the day, when they realised i wasnโt at all hispanic. And you're also ridiculously gorgeous, so it fits. How are you in sword fights ? Unfortunately i think that's the root of it, the phones. Nobody cared what anyone else looked like, or what they were doing. Of course, as a mother, knowing my kids have their phones gives me a little bit more peace at night, but as someone who lived through that party scene with no screens in our faces, it was that level of bliss -- to just be stupid and have fun. And the fashion. It's sad in a sense, and i'm sure there's venues that thrive on a "no phone policy" but it's just so calculated now. As if that doesnโt make me sound ancient. You've got taste, my darling... just relive the entire film. Now even more important question, who's closet would you steal for that exact fantasty
I don't think i've ever suffered such Fomo then i have with having to miss the wedding in Italy due to filming. Not only to say i was there, but purely just to be situated by a canal drinking coffee, or having another bowl of freshly made pasta. Did you get to take advantage and stay a few day's longer, darling ? Cause i'll be living vicariously through you. @aarcnpierre
