As we gear up for the final week of Beloved/Departed, I'd like to take a moment to reflect. I'm going into these last 3 performances with excitement and anticipation for not only being able to run around and play in the amazing space that is The Center at West Park, but to also spend some more time with an undeniably talented cast. I am also going into these last few performances with a bit of sadness as this will be our last time (for now, hopefully) to live in these characters and tell a story in this little world we've created. While I have a penchant towards melancholy and nostalgia, I sometimes think it's important to note when things are important to you. I have not been this excited to share a project that I'm working on in quite some time and I feel that it has been something that I've needed for a while now. I started this project with a good amount of trepidation as I knew a large portion of it would be out of my comfort zone. Not only would I be working with a new company, but I'd also be working with text as a character and working in an immersive environment for the first time. To say that I went into those first few rehearsals intimidated would be an understatement. I knew I was out of my league watching my fellow castmates work for first time. But instead of creating an environment that would have made me a nervous wreck week to week, I was welcomed with open arms. Thank you to Kendra and Jordan for inviting me into your little fold and trusting that I'd figure things out with your gentle nudges in the right direction. But also thank you to Josh, Rita, Matt, Maya, Chloe, Tillet, and Kellyn for just being the amazing artists that you are. Every step of this process I have felt pushed not just as a dancer but as a performer. I am extremely grateful to have had this experience and look forward to wherever this may take me next. . . . . . #beloveddeparted #linked_dance_theatre #dancer #dancetheatre #immersive #iguessiamanactornow #greekgods #apollo
