Reposting this fluffy little post-season 4 one-shot I wrote back in 2022 to help soothe the wounds of our epilogue disappointment 😔

So, it's well documented I am a diehard Stancy, always have been, always will be......but as we approach the final few hours before the finale my ONE NYE wish going into the last episode, is that Nancy and Steve survive! After the heart rending disappointment and grief I felt with Reylo and Sylki .....I will truly be satisfied as long as both sides of my ship make it out alive! Fanfics and AO3 will fill in the blanks of their future, and even if by some strange twist Jancy, reunite I will accept it.....just don't kill my babies!!!

Well.....I got my wish, but at what cost😐 Trying to stay positive, but can't help but feel disappointed by the lack of closure.....all that build up from season 4 utterly wasted. All I wanted was a direct conversation about it like Jancy did, but no....Steves confession remained a joke. Well at least I still have AO3 🥺

So please excuse this frankly crackpost, but i have been totally fixated on stancy brainrot for the last 3 days. And this silly but utterly salacious thought has just occurred to me about the whole "Robin tells everyone Steve has a BD"..... because how the hell does she know? So what if, and this is big WHAT IF.....Nancy told Robin when she was drunk🤣 . Like, what if after couple too many shots, Robin just straight up asks her in her usual tactless way and Nancy Wheeler can't help but bite her lip and smirk, therefore all but telling her without actually saying the words.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but how else would Robin know the rumours are true if a certain someone hadn't confirmed it.

Because this, this is the smirk of a girl who knows!

Now please excuse me as I go add this awkwardly funny exchange into my next fanfic😈

some small and silly epilogue speculation below (contains public paparazzi pictures from filming so. while innocuous please keep scrolling if you want to be completely spoiler-free)

the show's costume designer amy parris did a walkthrough of the character's costumes in s5 for instyle. she's done a few interviews like this over the years, and in this one she goes in-depth on el, holly, henry, and nancy's costumes in particular, and keeps the rest of the cast pretty brief. for steve she mentions that he's still classic all-american steve, still in his levi's 501s. for nancy she goes into detail about her ombre outfit, and regarding her jeans:

which... reminded me of these pap pictures of steve and dustin that are clearly from the epilogue:

and huh! steve's not in his famous 501's that he's been wearing the entire series anymore! he's in.... acid stone washed guess jeans that fit him like a glove!
