1up.com Shuting Down

I am sad to hear 1up.com closing down. For awhile they were a leading authority in gaming news for certain. Alot of my favorite podcasts were at 1up.com. Alot of the personalities that made that site however left years ago well before this closure. My Take : I know im a little late to the party on this one however I decided to blog about it anyways.  This is pretty bunk which most people will agree with. Services like OnLive and Steam or (Your Preferred Provider Here)  are the way of the future , this is not a secret. Why bother take the fucking coupon out. Is it really going to change anything or the direction of how the industry is going ? Fuck No.  Leave it BE , they already came to your store to buy the game. Gamestop does not lose their business however this whole fiasco will make people think otherwise when buying or pre-ordering another product from them.  No one can blame a company for protecting their own interests which is fair enough , but it would make more sense to innovate your own business than to try and block others.  Game stop already bought Impulse (DD Service) , they are in the game already and they shouldn't expect to be the only one. That whole thing called competion isn't going away.  Taking something away from a product you are carrying shouldn't be a way stifling competition instead you should try to do what they do and innovate yourself.  The way I see it they did this not because of just 1 single game , but perhaps to prevent a gateway introduction to OnLive for many people with the worry in mind "I just got a free game to use on here I wonder what else I can buy off here" ..which Game Stop sees as a threat to revenue due to this being a gateway for many users towards much more OnLive or other DD sales overall.  Game Stop , If you want to retain your business give customers an intensive to come in and don't fuck with our shit. That is all

Great Podcast. If your into knowing about the latest hardware or some general ranting from some of the Maximum PC staff, this is a great podcast to listen too. When I used to have time to listen to my podcasts at work back in the day there was about 10-15 on my list. I am down to 2 podcasts and this is still one of them :)
