i think it's interesting how feferi and karkat are both on "opposite" ends of the hemospetrum meanwhile they are the only two trolls in their group that actually care about the empire and it's for opposite reasons, but it subverts typical expectations by showing how feferi's privilege allows her to oppose the empire while karkat's lack of privilege is what leads to him supporting the empire (because there really are no other options for him)
