I'm fascinated by your "it's okay to feel hurt and betrayed" (granted, people can feel however they want!) post regarding H-Money because anyone reading it would think the writers just broke up this stable, loving couple who's been together for most of the show like Jay and Sam. It shows how h-money fans tend to view their ship through weirdly delusional goggles, seeing them according to what they wish h-money would be rather than what we've actually seen in reality.
OF COURSE Hetty and Trevor can date other people. Their "relationship" has been LONG over. In fact, they were only officially in a relationship for like a day because Hetty realized she doesn't want to date him. She's ashamed of him. She doesn't view him as an equal. Before that, for a short period of time, they were just fooling around in secret. Trevor is desperate for companionship so developed some sort of feelings, as he does VERY easily for most women he interacts with. Hetty viewed him as a source of sexual gratification. That's literally it. They had close to NOTHING. No love, no real connection, no depth, not even a real relationship - just a few secret hookups.
It was a very small percentage of the overall show, and it's been over for a long time. Since then, they've show zero interest in each other, no spark, no desire to even kiss again, no close friendship, no yearning, no connection, nothing other than agreeing to occasionally scheme together since they're both so devious and are both somewhat sociopathic. They're not "slow burning" their way to more because they barely interact on any level at all. The writers may reluctantly shove them together in the finale because they don't want to deal with the most fanatical members of the fanbase, but they clearly have less than no interest in writing them in a remotely romantic way.
The writers didn't betray anyone - by giving Trevor a chance at a relationship with someone who (unlike Hetty) appears to actually like and support him, they just seem to have shattered the delusional fantasies of misguided H-Money fans who insist H and T are so much more than they ever actually were. If you only watch the show because you think H-Money are this epic romance LMAO, you should watch something else.
Secondly, that post was made for H$ people saying itâs ok to feel upset or whatever weâre feeling right right now; because regardless of whatever their official status is in the show right now, the ship is still important to us and a lot of us are upset by the turn of events. Peopleâs ships are special to them.
This is an H$ blog, mostly. So if you donât want to read H$ fans responding to the Trevor/Patience thing; then donât click on the H$ tag or read posts by obvious H$ shippers.
People tend to romanticize their OTPs. Itâs a pretty common occurrence. At least with H$ we have confirmation (quite literally) from the actors that all those âcrumbsâ are extremely strategically and intentionally placed in there. Asher Grodman even straight up said âA message to all you H$ fan: Everything you think youâre seeing, youâre seeingâ. But thatâs not the point right now.
We are fully aware that this is a sitcom and not an âEpic Romanceâ, and most of that is left for fanfiction, RP, etcâwhich, again, is no different than regular fandom response to OTPs.
However, one thing I can say about H$ shippers, having been an active point of the community for a while, is that we make absolute sure not to âship shameâ others; which is what your ask is. Itâs ship shaming.
