“You find my stubbornness attractive.” Derek murmured quietly, tugging on the ends of Stiles’ hair. He made a quiet growling noise in warning at him, “Don’t fight me, you won’t win. I’m going to make sure you’re in as little pain as possible. I will do whatever it takes.” He sighed, thumbs massaging small circles against the sides of his neck, “I’d say…by the time the moon rises tonight the fever will have started. It’ll be full force by the time it’s at its highest peak.” Frowning slightly he shook his head, “Full moon is over a week away.” He studied Stiles closely, trying to read everything he knew was hiding behind his eyes. With a faint noise Derek leaned in again, hesitating a moment before kissing him, tugging him closer into his arms.
The tremor of fear that ran through Stiles at the idea of it being so soon caused his breath to catch, but he knew he’d be able to make it through so long as Derek was with him. The idea of being in pain wasn’t palatable, not in the least, but he’d been in pain before. He could do it again. His thoughts cut off as he found himself pressed against Derek, shock registering before he melted into Derek’s kiss. His arms slowly moving to wrap around Derek’s neck; fingers threading into Derek’s hair as he pulled him in a bit closer. Letting all his tension and fear fall away for the moment. Pressing their foreheads together when they finally broke to breathe. “Wow....”
