Who the hell would have thought there was a extinct volcano in Arizona!  One of our unexpected stops during our stay in Flagstaff was Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument!  We got here quite late as the sun was setting which was a complete accident since we were running late from Tuscon.  We quickly realized how this place got its name as it amazing to see as the sun was setting. During my long trip in 2006 accross the Himalayas, Hindu Kush, and Karakorum Mountain Ranges we made one stop to catch our breath in a popular hill station named Muree.  This little gem is nestled in the Inner Himalayan region about 19 miles from the capital and has quick access through the highway system.  Its been a popular resort since 1851 when it was popular among British troops, Government employees, and foreign dignitaries.  It has grown into quite a large resort town since those days with plenty of activities! Pro Tip: If you hike in the woods watch out for the monkeys they will approach you for food. Grab some corn at the street stalls to take with you to feed them to keep them at bay.
