I was nine years old when I first auditioned for the role of Hermione, and just ten when we started filming- and it feels like such a long time ago it’s hard to believe I am the same person! I suppose in many ways I am not, having grown from child to woman, but the one thing that remains constant is my passion for these stories and my love for Hermione. She has got to be one of my all-time favorite literary heroines. t’s funny, when I look back at those early years I remember being so emphatic that I had nothing in common with the character of Hermione, especially with her tweed skirts and thick tights. Being a nerd back then just wasn’t cool. But, as I grew older I realized how alike we really are, and that a comparison of any sort was a compliment and not a jibe. She is a true and loyal friend, feisty and determined, and not afraid to pursue what she believes. And she is, of course, a dedicated scholar. I absolutely share her passion for knowledge, and if I can lay claim to half of her other attributes then I am extremely happy. Girls should never be afraid to be smart! - Emma Watson

this interview was so funny. it's so nice to know that years before, they already knew that it would always be ron and hermione. but it's funny how they talk about how awkward it would be kissing each other, because they really have grown up like siblings.

and dan laughing in the sidelines hearing emma and rupert talk about the kiss. little did he know that he and emma would have their own kissing scene too. haha.

em:... mine was always little mermaid. my dad would kill me for saying this but for my fifth birthday party he dressed up as king titan which was so cool, and my little brother was sebastian

lol. i'm pretty sure sebastian is the crab and the blue and yellow fish is flounder. even Rupert got confused.

awww..the impact harry potter has on children...it reminds me of when i was eight, and i first picked up the book :) it wasn't even my book back then, my older cousin just left it lying on a table at our house. so i guess I owe it to her. but then again, even if she hadn't left the book lying around, i still probably would have found a way to get to harry's world :D
