I didn’t read the whole thing because I don’t have access to the article but my general understanding of the whole situation is that Martin has flipped out for quite a while (basically after S3) and the S4 expectations only made it worse which had him explode and blame it on the fans. Benedict has been handling everything better but as Martin gets quite vocal, Ben starts losing his cool as well. 

Think about the whole drama that has occurred after 2013. Rumours for frozen relationships, divorces, crazy as fuck decisions for the show, sudden plot changes, weirdly behaving and always peevish showrunners and cast, enormous plot holes, lack of merch too and everyone lashing out on the fans or even having personal issues with some of them.

Now tell me, how many times have these things happened in other fandoms? Is this entire weird mess the Johnlockers’ fault, who after all are just a fraction of the fandom? COME ON, people. (Slash) shipping is a huge thing in the world and even if other shippers were not as convinced as we were that their ship would be canon, it makes no sense why they have such a huge problem with it. So many actors, so many creators, nobody flips out and keeps mentioning a ship forever. Come. On. 

Btw what did Martin say about Italian boys? I haven’t seen this…

I read the whole thing. It’s free to sign up. The article has the quotes from the previous interview, but nothing more than what he already said. I don’t know. Maybe they recently had an argument and are letting it spill into public. Maybe they are sick of Mofftiss using them for publicity. I think they are grown men and can handle themselves, fine. This is the same paper that did Martin’s. He does go into the metoo movement and Melrose.
