As he listened to Henry’s rules, the more inclined he was to running sooner than later. He ws truly unsure what made him accept in the first place aside from wanting to see a real zombie that wasn’t himself. When the explosion of his former classmate was mentioned, Naoto flinched, immediately not wishing that upon himself. Even so, the teen simply listened and made sure to commit those warnings to memory. It would be for the best, he mused.
Even if he knew that using Bloodedge would be the quickest way to handle a zombie. “Gotcha. I’ll do just that.” he says, smile still there. It was nice of him to warn him of any dangers regardless.
As the crows moved to the tree, Naoto stood up and walked to a better viewing point near the mage. The mask was interesting to the teen– were they being controlled in the first place? Or were they given the mask when resurrected? The questions whirled in his head, only to snap out of it when Henry spoke. “Well, it would be better for us if we did. It’ll save us some pain if it attacks us.” he answered, looking at the Risen with a curious look.
“Besides…” he starts, and with a bit of hesitation, he bent over to look over the body’s arms. “With a quick break here, you should be able to pull the arm off without a hitch.” he says, pointing to where the bones of the arm poked through skin. “It’s not really hard, so maybe I could do it.”
Hey, if he was gonna be part of the experiment, he might as well let his curiosity run free. He wanted to see arms grow back.
The dark mage perked up, clapping his hands excitedly. “Ooh, good idea! We can multitask then! I’ll leave the chopping and ripping to you, and I’ll handle the complicated magicky stuff. Don’t want to make a mistake with that, nope.” Letting Naoto handle the Risen for a bit, Henry skipped over to the nearest tree, snapping a thin branch off - though he patted the poor tree afterwards. (Henry heard the tree yelp in sudden pain, and ouchies were always not welcome. But it was also just a tree.)
Using the branch, Henry began scratching out the matrix to resurrect the Risen, with a few alterations. While it wasn’t the first time Henry raised up some Risen, this was the first time he tried it with these alterations, as well as attempting a single Risen instead of an entire army. So he had to be precise when it came to this. (Though that didn’t stop him from humming a cheery jingle as he continued to scratch out the matrix.)
After a few minutes of creating the matrix, Henry stepped back and looked towards Naoto. Behind him, the matrix began to faintly glow. “Alright! It’s done, all we need to do is to slap that Risen inside, and I’ll do my magic! I’m pretty sure I did it right. Anyways, might wanna stand behind me when I start this!”
