Jude watched the waves of the water from the beach of Leronde, the ebb and flow of the water tickling his toes. He heard a giggle, looking beside him to see Leia playing in her usual hyperactive fashion. She looked back up at him, slowly bending down and splashing the water to Jude.
The splash then grew, Leia somehow going from right next to him to forever away, the small splash slowly and horrifically growing into a tidal wave. Jude tried to scream, but made no sound. The wave crashed down on him, washing him away from the shore, and he struggled to swim to the surface, flailing his limbs as much as he could to go up and --
Jude was abruptly awoken by the feeling of wood smashing into his everything, a sharp yelp emitting from what he realized was his own mouth. Jude lay still for a moment, gathering his thoughts: now that he was awake, he could parse that he had obviously had a nightmare, and that he had found his way out of bed while he was sleeping. Gravity took care of the rest.
Jude let out a soft exasperated sigh, sitting up and looking around... only to realize this room isn’t where he went to bed the previous night. Jude looked around carefully, trying to make sense of things, when he found a little girl staring at him from the doorway.
“Gah!” Jude jumped away from her, too much happening at once to be able to register what was going on. After a moment, he forced himself to relax a little. “Hey, sorry about that. Uh... where am I?”
