The Imitation game. 

Lately, I haven’t gotten as much to the cinema as I wanted to but, this movie got me excited, and I can’t wait to see it in Theaters. 

Alan Turing has always been a fascinating person to me, and I’m happy to see that Benedict Cumberbatch is playing his role..

Two incredibly useful questions to ask in a job interview

"[...] I took it very seriously and felt a responsibility to really try to understand people. I had a few tricks, some I still use when interviewing potential employees, that helped me a lot. My most important two questions were ‘what are you going to do when you get selected?’ and then I always followed up with ‘and what will you do if you aren’t selected?’.  [...]"

I like the approach that Boris is using right here. There's always a chance that you will get the job and there is always a chance that you won't get it. But I think (great) people who won't get the job won't throw them a pity party for the next 6 months but they rather figure out a way either to get the job after all or what they are going to do next.

The counter question now would be how would you react to these questions? Would you become more relaxed?

Kirsty Nathoo (Ycombinator CFO)  & Caroline Levy (General Counsel) are talking about the boring stuff that happens in a startup. Legal, Accounting, Finance.

Key takeaways: 

As a founder -- don't get lost in those details (you should care more about the product, hiring & fundraising) 

Hire a good lawyer (for company setup, mistakes can be very costly) 

If you're starting up in the US -- use a Delaware corporation (a requirement for all the YC funded companies)

Outsource payroll and related services (it's worth your money) 

Hire a smart accountant (Always a good idea)

Don't give away board seats easily

Always try to have a balanced equity formula when it comes to the founders (every YC company has a balanced equity formula) 

If your company shares are vested (which they should be) you're creating an incentive for yourself to put 150% in (same goes for employees w/ stock options)
