“Well sounds to me like you know more about music thank you think that you do,” Thomas pointed out by their description of it, “After all, you just explained the entire point of why we love it, and that’s what matters the most when it comes to music. Everything else is simply secondary.”

“is that all there really is to it, do you think?” cheshire asked, head tilting to one side with curiosity. “there’s all the technicalities as well, aren’t there? the sharps and the flats and what have you? aren’t those important, as well?” cheshire hummed, thinking a moment before they answered themself. “i suppose none of the logical stuff is truly important when it comes to the enjoyment of it all, however. perhaps that’s why music is so wonderful, you don’t need to understand it to enjoy it.”

if there was one thing cheshire did well, it was people watch. and their favorite place to perch while doing so was in the branches of one of any of carthay’s many trees. which just so happened to be where they were at the moment. sprawled haphazardly across one long limb, hands crossed in front of them and chin atop them, they’d been watching an artist sketch beneath their perch, head cocking this way and that. leaning a bit more forward on their branch than the branch deemed safe, cheshire found themself doing something they hadn’t done since they were much, much younger: they tumbled forward off the branch and to the ground, effectively falling out of the tree with a loud THUMP. more dazed than anything, cheshire sat where they’d fallen a moment, a tangle of limbs, before they realized the one they’d been watching was now watching them. “oh, hello.”

Thomas had been lost in his own world as he sat on the park bench and played his guitar. He hadn’t really been playing for tips this time (though he still had his guitar case open just in case) just experimenting around with different ideas that he had.  And yet, he still noticed the moment that someone dropped some money in his case. “Oh, thank you,” he smiled at the person, “Mind telling me what you liked about it? I’m working new some new stuff and I wouldn’t mind the feedback.”

“Okay, listen. No, seriously! This is very important.” Koda tries his best to hold in a laugh. This was a serious matter! “Do you have a plan for alien invasion? Yes or no?” He’ll question as he attempts to hold a grin from growing on his lips. “Most people prepare for the zombie outbreak which is valid!” Koda is quick to hold up his hands in defense. He’d met quite a few people preparing for something of that nature. “But….aliens. I once met this man who swore up and down if we kept a rock in our pockets then we’d be safe from aliens. Sooo. Guess what?” A grin fully spreads across lips and Koda reaches into his jacket to pull out a rock.

“oh, certainly.” chesh answered simply with a nod. “who hasn’t at least entertained the idea of such a thing?” although, to be quite honest, their plan wasn’t anything extravagant. in the event of a visit from such creatures, cheshire would more likely than not investigate up close and personal, whether that was the best route or not. “oh, a zombie outbreak seems much less likely, really. although i suppose it is a rather good idea to be properly prepared for either!”

cheshire hummed, head cocking to one side as koda told them of the man and the rock. their gaze flicked to the rock in the other’s hand. “oh, how curious! what an oddly wonderful notion.” their eyes lingered a moment longer on the rock before glancing back to koda’s face. “did he specify which sort of rock it was meant to be? or would any rock do? there are so many different rocks with so many interesting properties, you know. it would stand to reason that at least one of them would aid in warding off visitors from another realm.”

cheshire was more than willing to answer any questions miguel might have. speaking on a momerath’s behalf is what they did best, after all. and at the question he presented them, they hummed in thought. “well, you see, being as small as they are, they’re rather low to the ground and most people these days are caught up in one thing or another as they walk and don’t simply look down. perhaps if they did, they might notice. but they don’t, so they won’t.” chesh sighed. “which is also why they oft get stepped on, you know.” slender fingers brushing candy pink locks from their eyes, chesh’s nose crinkled. “i sometimes hang signs from my trees or call to passersby below to ‘Don’t Step On The Momeraths!’ but,” an exhaled sigh, “you know how well people listen. especially when they’re convinced you’re spouting nonsensical jargon!”

Miguel released a small hum. That was a good explanation to why The Momeraths wouldn’t be noticed. One that he actually didn’t consider himself, understandably so, seeing how he admittedly was no doubt one of the many people who gets caught up to notice his surroundings most of the time. “Doesn’t help that more times than not, people would also be so focused on their phones or any portable device, huh?” He remarked, another thing that he was realizing. “Why bother taking the time to look at where you’re stepping when you can be focusing on something else?” The thought of them putting up a sign to prevent people from stepping on The Momeraths was kind of funny, as Miguel released a snort once he heard Cheshire say that, but also thoughtful. In a weird and roundabout kind of way if Momeraths had been real. “They would spitefully step on them regardless if they think what you were saying was true or not.”

“yes, very true! people are often focused on technological contraptions. though i can’t really blame them... they’re so integrated into the way we socialize nowadays that some people might be ever so lost without them.” chesh hummed. “it isn’t really their fault, you know. more society’s as a whole, i suppose. which...” they shrugged, “societal norms are pesky little things, don’t you think?” leave it to cheshire to get increasingly off topic. “i really do wish more people would stop and chase the butterflies. technology truly is a wonder! but it is very wonderful to look up sometimes. not even for the momeraths, per se, just. in general, you know?” chesh asked, head canting to one side curiously.
