a tumblr blog to yap about my warrior cats fanclan and suffer in conlang on hiatus for now cuz im busy! still feel free to send asks, im just not doing any big posts for the foreseeable future.
I'm Hero (he/him)! I'm an autistic writer and artist whose two biggest interests of all time are Warrior Cats and Japan. This is a side blog for my fanclan/multiverse that...combines those two! This is just where I yap about it; the characters, the worldbuilding, post art of it, etc!
Both my avatar and banner are two art pieces I received for the CCEU characters during ArtFight by the user akihikoSanada; go give em a follow!
So...here's a quick rundown! (Of course, you can always read the Google doc, but that's less fun than a blog, yaknow?)
What is CCEU? (And WEU too)
CCEU stands for the following: "Cloudclan Extended Universe"! This is an umbrella term for all stories within the universe where Cloudclan and its surrounding groups reside. So, CCEU includes WEU (Wispclan Extended Universe), DAD (Dancing and Dreaming), HSO (Hangout Strike Out), and other stories.
WEU, is in a sense, a smaller CCEU inside of CCEU? It's its own little universe inside of CCEU using the clan's old name Wispclan as a placeholder. WEU specifically refers to a multiverse of stories about the following three characters: Beatleeyes/Kabutomushi, Foxrun/Fox that Burrows in Snow, and Soba/Meiro/Brightseer. These stories do not happen in the same timeline, though some things remain consistent between them all. Some CCEU stories are canon to all timelines, or only some.
The reason for this…really confusing set up that really only I understand is because…well, trying to come up with one, concrete story, for these OC's, drove me insane. I had too many ideas and too many fun dynamics and storylines running around in my brain that just couldn't be confined to one timeline. So: CCEU and WEU were born. Out of the two of them, however, WEU has the most content.
CCEU takes inspiration from a lot of different things---worldbuilding wise, I'd say the main inspo is the BetterBones AU! Which, by the way, is one of the coolest things of all time, IMO. My goal for this Tumblr blog, I think, is to get a post a month out exploring the world of Cloudclan. Feel free to send in asks!
A visual, in case that's confusing.
Now that that's out of the way---
I'll get to working on worldbuilding posts and stuff later...I've never run this type of blog, so I hope it goes well.
There's no way the cats actually know what a germ is right? Like, germ theory is still basically new in the timeline of human history, so these cats definitely would have zero idea germs exist right? like they can obviously tell about disease spreading and the like, but it's much more likely they've developed mythology about spirits or do miasma theory right? I think that would be interesting, medicine cats wrapping lavender around their noses to help prevent disease, putting nice smelling things in the nursery to help bade off disease to the kits, I just think there's a lot of world building that can be done here because theres no way in hell the average clan cat fully 100% knows that things can even be microscopic
just got back from summer camp! (or, rather, i got back from summer camp 2 days ago).
anyways. two main wips i have going on: the beetlefighting post, and some cat introductory posts as well. stay tuned for those :) rest assured this blog is not abandoned haha.
along with that, ive also been working on a makeshift timeline for the cceu universe, including some eras i need to fill out. anyways, heres a little cloudclan fun fact for you: they keep track of time long term in two ways, eras and reigns.
reigns are the lifetime of a leader, so, when the leader dies, a new reign is started named after the new leader. so, when saturnstar (new name pending) dies, saturnstars reign is over, and when spiderlilystar takes over, its now spiderlilystars reign.
era's are a bit more abstract, defined by events or characteristics important during that time. for example, the "hunger era" is referring to a time when there was an intense famine. to be more specific, you can say "during the [name] era under the reign of [name]star" as well, because certain eras may have multiple leaders. this way of keeping history is mostly specific to cloudclan, though, because well---its cloudclans history!
there will most likely be a more formal post on this, but i thought itd be fun to share.

The most significant laws to come out of the controversy banned modifications that went beyond animal health and benign aesthetic purposes. Less relevant to ALLEY Corp., however, direct genetic modification of livestock animals that were meant for consumption was also prohibited... at least until recently. There has been a BOOM in interstellar colonization following the invention of practical faster than light travel. Genetic material and artificial wombs are much easier to transport than fully grown livestock animals. Terran governments can't do much to stop people from producing modified breeds that might better survive on their target worlds. The colonists of Gliese 667Cc may have unintentionally unleashed some human-level intelligent cats on an alien planet.
A sadder and more ironic outcome of the controversy and the tragedy of Folly was a boom in modified pet numbers. Symmetrical torties, dubbed "Folly-mollies", became incredibly popular once the outrage faded.
Decided to cover something fun while I plan my next big post (which is about Cloudclan and Beetlefighting---which, by the way, is called skurukorrl in Islandmew, for a small little vocab lession...)
But anyways, I thought'd I share some fun miscellaneous stuff while I'm working on that....So, why not talk about some locations within Cloudclan's territory?
Number one on the list is...
The Giant Sakura!
The Giant Sakura is a large Sakura tree right in the middle of Cloudclan's territory! It sticks out due to being pretty far out from the border, which is where the Sakura forest lies. In the hollow of the tree, there is a pool of water, which the cats of Cloudclan use as a religious gathering place. Basically, it's the cats Moonpool or Moonstone.
I'm working on a Islandmew name for it; they view sakura's as something "sacred", so maybe something along the lines of that. (I'm actually planning at looking at a few conlang videos and books for this project, haha!)
A very important battle has taken place here.
Winter Camp
The clan's winter camp that sits in the southern area of the territory. The camp consists of a labyrinth of tunnels, where the cats sleep to keep warm.
Yes, tunnels! There's actually cats in Cloudclan who are specialized for making these.
Yes, a cave ins are a problem.
Summer Camp
Sitting in the west of the territory, and residing by Hawk's River, Cloudclans summer camp resides in a "gorge" of sorts. It's described as if "the two-legs had scooped it out with their bare paws just for the clan".
Which, fun little lore drop. Cloudclan's relationship with twolegs is leagues better than the canon clans. They actually view twolegs as a type of god.
Hawk's River
Hawk's River is a river that runs straight through the territory and down into the ocean. But anyways, it's name after Hawk that Soars in the Night, who founded the Featherseekers.
Hawk's River is one of the Featherseeker's way of navigating---that, and the Brightest Star (or, as we knew it, the North star). While the Brightest Star is used as a way to tell the general direction of things, Hawk's River is more of a way for them to recognize when they're well on their way to Cloudclan and that they're close to the clan.
I love Clanmew. It's one of my favourite things ever (again: big fan of BetterBones), I've always wanted to try my hand at conlangs. What better way to start off than creating a dialect for an already existing conlang? Credits to @/bonefall for the Base Clanmew. The Cloudclan Clanmew is actually pretty important because I need to work some things out with it to come up with some things with the Featherseekers (one of the three groups in CCEU).
I'm not sure what I'll call it, so I've been calling it Cloudclan's Clanmew in my head, but I might change it to something more along the lines of Cloudmew, Feathermew, or Islandmew. Cloudmew being from Cloudclan and the -mew. Feathermew being from the Featherseekers and -mew. Annnd Islandmew being from the fact they live on an Island...and -mew. More about the island thing later, I'm still figuring out how it fits into everything. (Edit: as of August 2nd, 2024, the official name for it is Islandmew.)
I'm not too sure how to go about with conlangs or dialects, but for now, I've chosen two cats with names that have words that aren't in the Base Clanmew lexicon and tried to translate their names to Clanmew...and thus having to create a new word or two in the process.
First up we have...
Spiderlilystar! (Reyskepaishai)
Okay, so Spiderlilystar doesn't exactly have a design? I haven't thought too much about her, she's more a nebulous being to me. She'll get more love later due to her having overthrown Saturnstar during Saturnstar's reign (been trying to come up with a new name for Saturnstar, it's just a placeholder). But, anyways. Spiderlillies aren't in Base Clanmew, but they're in the CCEU Clanmew.
The word I chose for spiderlily is skepai. Ske being the word for "spider" (cobspiders, specifically, as in spiders that make cobwebs. The most generic term for spider in Clanmew), + pai being petal. It's because the spiderlily flower looks sorta of like spider legs curling up when they die to me, so like, what if the cats called them the equivalent of spider petal? The original word would've been something more along the lines of spider petal flower, or spider petal plant, but plant/flower part got omitted overtime due to wordiness.
The word used in Spiderlillystars name specifically is reyskepai. So, when spiderlillies in her name are very specifically red spiderlillies. Red like blood. The cats actually have three words for spiderlily here---skepai, generic for all spiderlillies, regardless of colour; reyskepai, red spiderlillies; and oskskepai, white spiderlillies. They see both red and white spiderlillies, so it felt like it makes sense that they would have words for both colours.
So, anyways, Spiderlilystar's name in Cloudclan's Clanmew would be Reyskepaishai. Reyskepai being "spiderlily (red)", and shai being "star".
Second we have...
Beatleeyes! (Skssspir)
Beatleeyes...I actually tend to just call him Kabutomushi, as in Beatle. As in the Japanese Rhinoceros Beatle. Most of the stories actually focus on him during his apprenticeship, when he's Beatlepaw, but I decided to go with his warrior name.
I looked everywhere in the Clanmew lexicon for a word for beatle--- kbkbkb, as in buzzed, as in for the flight of buzzing insects such as beetles, flies, bees, but not beatle itself. So, I did some more thinking---so much thinking that translating Beatleeyes name actually ended up with a whole new tradition in Cloudclan.
When Cloudclan talks about beatles, they're most often referring to the beatles they use in Beatlefighting. The specific beatles are Japanese Rhinoceros Beatles.
They're honestly really cool. I love these things.
Beatlekit was named Beatlekit by Fernstorm because of his ferocious nature. I looked up some sounds beatles make---they make this weird hissing sound when disturbed. I tried sounding it out, and came up with sksss. They actually use this word so much for beatles that it's an overarching term---it refers to all beatles, not just the beatles they use for Beatlefighting. I actually considered having the word for beatle be based off the sound they make when fighting, but then I decided to go with the other sound instead.
Thus: the first part of his name, sksss.
The suffix, eyes, isn't exactly referring to his actual eyes? Spiderlilystar gave him the suffix eyes for his good eyesight. So, instead of being literal and going with the actual word for eye (ipa), I chose pir for sight. So: Sksspir. His name can be translated as either Beatlesight or Beatleeyes. I prefer Beatleeyes.
Anyways, that wraps up the names thing. I hope it makes sense? These were really fun to do and come up with, really!
