She never really had a strong female friend, at least one she wasn’t competing with, so this is what this was like? “Why would I need Bruce Wayne for back-up. I got you,” Anna said with a grin at her friend. She then frowned as her friend gave her a self-deprecating story, “Then they’re dumb asses because you are an amazing woman. So you screw up. Guess what, we all do. If someone can’t forgive you for making a mistake, they don’t deserve you. I can go all dead languages on their ass if you want. It’s what besties do for each other,”Anna offered her eyes changing to a golden hue.

“Nope, I’m here to give you this. I told you, come near my case and I would file a complaint against you for tampering with a case,” Anna said with a smirk. “I don’t like it when people play with my toys. I never learned that lesson in kindergarten. Enjoy meeting with the Bar Association when they hear your case, and you have to explain why you interfered in an active court case. How will you explain yourself,” Anna said with a smirk. She hadn’t expected for Laurel to back off. It would mean having to let go of her ego. That wasn’t something the new DA was used to. But Anna wasn’t the helpless little twit that Laurel thought she was. Death had a funny way of changing who you are at the core.

He’s seen some shit so don’t let this be an excuse if he does cop out.” Rose pointed out because while it did make sense under normal circumstances, she knew good ol’ Bruce had dealt with worse on many of occasion and her new friend deserved something good.

“Hey, I’ll be okay. If Bruce stays, that’s great. If he goes, he’s not the man I thought he was. But I think he’ll surprise me. He’s not a Disney prince. It doesn’t always have to be rainbows and flowers for him. He prefers his blood-caked armor and back alleys,” Anna said with a smile. “What about you any one of interest,” Anna said with a gleeful smile.

"I'm giving him a get out of jail free card," Anna explained, " Dealing with a girl who woke up from a coma was bad enough, one that might have died and come back with magical powers. Nope, you're not an asshole for running from that." Anna smirked at her friend as she took a shot and waived over another one.

She didn’t give a shit about this city but Laurel did. “Defending him without the help of the DA’s office will result in unfavorable verdict.” Her jaw tensed in the wake of her growing rage. No one underestimated her. Not some pathetic little lamb law student. “This isn’t over, Anna. I don’t lose and I will have this case in my hands by the end of the week. You may want to get used to me flat ass.”

"Then maybe you should've done better research as the entire rental was fake. From credit card to signature, no one ever saw, spoke to, or can even prove it was Oliver Queen that rented the shed. The company doesn’t even have a surveillance camera in their office," Anna snapped her patience at the end with the DA. "Would help if you actually were the DA. From what I've learned doppelgangers are a genuine thing, and the Flash has even had an interaction with a doppelganger of Dinah Laurel Lance's. Now that would mean that if you are the DA, there's someone out there who shares your face. One who never went to law school. One that doesn't know you have to renew your bar license every year. You know, the licensing that if you let expire you have to sit for the Bar all over again. You did that, right? You remember how long that test is. You might want to make sure that no one had suddenly requested your paperwork for a second copy of your licensing. "Now get your flat ass out of my office and stay away from my client or I'll move for a mistrial based on the DA's Office suddenly trying to interfere with a federal case. Then you can explain to the FBI why you blew their case," Anna said with a smirk.

Tim carries such guilt for his actions. A guilt that marooned him in his own self inflicted isolation. I am hoping he’ll come to his senses before his daughter is born.”

“Always.” Bruce quipped. “I may have an idea about your resurrection.”

"I know, and I'm trying not to be my old self with my old expectations. I want to be with you, Bruce, but I'm going to stumble over years of what I thought I wanted. "Are you excited to be a grandfather," Anna asked with a slight tease.

Bruce rose his brow at the mystic energy that flowed through her. Objects moved on her command; a happening he had only seen in files drawn up on Dr. June Moone. This couldn’t be like Enchantress, right? Her speech was convincing but he wasn’t a man to leave when it got too hard. At least not in this portion of his life. Bruce deliberately lifted the mug to lips to taste the coffee. “I’ve noticed and I am unyielding. I burdened you with my secret and I will shoulder the burden of yours.”

“Bruce, all you had to say was your son needed you. I don’t expect you to choose me over him. But it's nice to know it was something important. How is he doing now,” Anna asked, bouncing Sami on her hip.

Anna raised her eyebrow and smiled, “You do like to live dangerously, Mr. Wayne.” She then sighed, “I don’t know what I am. Except I’m pretty sure I died on the bridge the night of the siege on Star City. But I don’t know how I came back.”

It’s cute to think that the growling tone would be enough to scare me off.” Dinah drawl cut with the molasses like sass. “I am the only person who can get Oliver off without a scratch. His case is clear cut with evidence tampering and he’s my dearest friend. I can’t sit on my hands and watch him go to prison for life.”

“Really; that’s what you’re going to go with,” Anna said with a smirk, “I may be a law student, but my mother is guiding me through this case and she makes more in one case then your pathetic little salary in a year. So try another intimidation tactic. Besides, it was your negligence that got Oliver locked away in the first place, Black Canary. Your office is the one that signed off on the warrant to search a storage unit under his name. Claim all you want to want to help him, but I don’t trust you. So stay away from my client or I’ll file a contempt of court against your flat ass.”

“I need to sit council with our client,” Dinah stepped into the shabby little office in the heart of the Glades. “Oliver Queen will die in Slabeside if you refuse to accept my help on this case. I don’t care how you do it but this is bigger than you.”

I don’t need a DA poking around his case trying to send him to jail for life. Rose raised a brow but decided just to take another sip of her drink instead of saying anything right away. She didn’t have much experience with powers of any sort. “I may be able to ask around for some favors because I’m as human as they come, but that’s a cool new discovery.”

She grinned Rose, “That’s just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve learned so many tricks since the invasion.” She shrugged, “Any information is better then what I have right now,” Anna decided.

She should have gotten notice but he had forgotten what it was like to be in a relationship with someone outside of his grim world. “I’d be surprised what I have withstood. Go ahead,” he motioned with open arms.

“I’m not blaming you, Bruce. I just didn’t understand the extent. But I needed you, and you weren’t there. It makes me wonder if I can depend on you. It’s not a requirement. I’m stronger then I look, but I don’t want to come off as cold or uncaring,” she informed him. She wasn’t angry, but she needed to know how much of her heart to risk.

She nodded his attention to a coffee tray before gesturing with her hands, and concentrating on it, she paused, letting him understand what he saw. “I came back different,” she admitted, “This is your out, Bruce. I wouldn’t hold it against you.”

He knew the two needed to have a conversation about her mystical abilities but he didn’t want to disrupt the calm that circled around her. “Ah,” he cleared his defensive thoughts away. Anna wouldn’t have kept something so vital from him, right? “My trip was cut shorter than I expected.” His leads on Talia grew colder than a winter in Siberia.

“You know, I knew when I got into this that you weren’t known for sticking around. I didn’t think I would get abandoned after the world tore itself apart. Doesn’t matter. I need to tell you something, and you’ll probably turn around and walk out the after I do, but I ask that you keep my secret like I keep yours,” Anna said calmly holding Sami in her arms waiting for an acknowledgment.
