the shouts were impossible to ignore - drawing the young girlās attention as she passed an alleyway on the way to her brotherās, leaving her to stop midstep and curiously lean her head in towards the commotion.Ā
her eyes fell upon the bloodied back of a boy, dressed in an attire that one could only assume belonged to the likes of a magical boy fresh out of battle.Ā sobs swallowed the air around him and eunbi could only watch as the stranger just seemed to fall apart in front of her.Ā
had this boy just captured a card? why was he crying? curiosity ate endlessly at her and she craved to just step forward and let her voice be heard but she was intruding. intruding on a moment that clearly was private for this boy who knew nothing of her presence.Ā
the better part of her drug herself away from that alley and further on the street to her brotherās, forcing herself to forget this had ever happened so that she would torture herself with curiosity no longer.
eunbi had managed to return to her normal state by the time she arrived at sungjongās, forgetting the whole alleyway situation entirely and instead focusing on day to be well spent with her twin.Ā
a smile tugging the edges of her lips, the girl happily let herself into the apartment (she had a spare key for a reason, no use in asking now) and dropped her bag to the floor - moving to stretch out her limbs only to stop halfway.
there in front of her stood the bloodied back of the stranger in the alley - the patterns and colors of his clothing ever so familiar before he transformed back into the sungjong she thought she knew.
after a long day of classes, there was nothing more eunbi wanted to do than crawl under her covers and sleep the next four years away. but for some reason, she found herself taking the long way home, enjoying the sun that warmed her bare shoulders and the occasional gust of wind that swept through her dark locks.
basking in the peacefulness that surrounded her little walk home, eunbi let her eyes roam through the area - to the little children holding their mothers hands and the students chatting amongst themselves, still dressed in their uniforms - before they eventually fell upon the figure of a girl, seated alone in busanās hustle and bustle of every day life.
the look on her face - it was just pitful. what on earth could make a girl look so sad? a frown on her face, eunbi began to approach her only to realize a talk from a stranger was probably not what she wanted right now. no, sweet treats were the only answer to a bad day and eunbi had just the thing.Ā
the ice cream stand just across the street had proven useful as she was now approaching the saddened girl, a cone in each hand and a bright smile stretching across her face.Ā
āyou look like you needed this.ā now standing directly in front of the girl, eunbi held a hand out, gesturing for the stranger to take the sweet treat from her hands in hopes of bringing a smile to her face.

sheās new, inexperienced, and a bit of coward - eunbi can admit that much. but the one time she pulled herself together, the one time she actually felt like a magical girl she had almost managed to capture a card but this other hero just had to swoop in and not only attempted to take the card that was clearly hers, but they also failed in doing so. sheās been bitter ever since and now considers them a rival and a nuisance.Ā
