I’ve put together a Patreon to help me dedicate more time to my comics. They can be pretty time-consuming and I’d love to be able to start posting them more frequently. If you’d like to see more of my comics and are interested in supporting me, please consider taking a look!

The gang's all here!
Ok so, the following:
All these lovely ladies are part of Carmilla's* vampire coven and help her with her shady business deals. They are the mean girl clique of the underworld and they are cutthroat when it comes to defending what is "theirs".
* I renamed the vampire I used to refer to as Lilith. This name change is intended to better reflect her character, and is a callback to the og Carmilla of the book.
This blog will be on a hiatus for a while.
Dr. Poison from "Wonder Woman" is one of the latest.
The idea that to be beautiful means to be good and to be disfigured means to be evil is not new. It’s a really tired, unoriginal trend in the movie industry, and only perpetuates damaging beliefs about individuals with facial differences.
I know this is going to be dismissed as some fucking snowflake nonsense but I work in a paediatric burns unit and the effects of this trope are gut wrenching and so, so damaging.
OH GODS YES. Seriously, bless you, @palamate for bringing the burn unit up. YES, this whole trope of “evil = scarred or disfigured” is tired, cruel, and it hurts very real, very vulnerable people.
Writers of the world, do better, try harder, APPLY YOURSELF. Give me beautiful villains who are absolute bastages on the inside, entirely worthy of my loathing. Don’t spoon feed me this cheap, trite BS of “you know this one’s the villain because of how they look.”
I hate this trope with a burning passion. There is so much internalized bias we have because of it. Pretty ppl can’t be shitty and “ugly” people are always dumber or nasty of morally bankrupt somehow. There are even studies that have confirmed this bias.
We’re programmed with it from a very early age.
Thinking about Jane just cracks me up so much. As a dullahan, she's a beings associated with darkness and death, people fear her race for that reason and try to keep their distance. She helps souls pass on to the afterlife by making them realise that they are indeed dead and have no longer a place in the world of the living. Dullahans are feared and dreaded.
But at the same time, dullahans are of the fae. And every fae has a mieschivious streak to them. So while the public sees Jane exclusively as menacing and grim, she also has an extremely silly, trickstery side.
Like, she uses her own head for bowling matches. She switches her head with her friends for shits and giggles. She knows the personification of death and she treats him like a casual acquaintance. She literally wears a pumpkin instead of her head on Halloween because she feels like it. She throws birthday parties for her kelpie.
Obligatory pun when one of your character is able to casually detach their head from their body.
They're a tough fighter
I'd like to introduce the *looks through notes* one person who follows this blog to one of the villain of GOTN.
This vampire lady is going to cause a lot of pain for some of my characters. Lilith is...not a very pleasant person to be around once you really know her. She's part of a vampire coven and travels the lands with her bitchy mean girl cliquè.
No one really knows where she comes from, how old she is or what her past looks like, but she has a way of persuading people.
She is a very entitled and callous person, and when she doesn't get what she wants, well, then people deserve to suffer for not letting her have it her way.
She thinks that if she hurt you, it somehow must have been your fault for something you did that angered her. That's how she rationalizes her actions, anyway.
It's them!!
I don't think I've mentioned this on here, but due to an injurie they received during their childhood, they have to walk with a cane.

@thejeksburyguy
You have been heard, and you are right!
They would be delighted to hug you!!
Thinking about how after all the traumatic events Azariah went through their self esteem was basically non-existant.
Like many survivors, they started to blame themself for everything bad that happened to them. They started to believe they somehow deserved all the pain and suffering, that this was punishment for something they did. They also felt extremely guilty because there were instances of Azariah genuinely enjoying the time spend with her abuser when they were in a "honeymoon" phase of him apologizing and trying to win them back.
All of this lead to Azariah having no confidence in themself and feeling like a pathetic loser. They thought they had become unworthy of love.

I am very pleased to announce that I have decided to make Azariah into a ripped butch woman with lean musclely arms and thighs strong enough to crush a watermelon between them. You're welcome.
This is pretty close to what she looks like.
@thejeksburyguy First of all, AKDHAKHDHAGDC THANK YOU reading this makes me so happy,
And secondly,
I drew them.
