not to center men, but pretty sure my favorite things to write are men groveling and men so down bad it's mildly embarrassing. they should do that more.

I published my first novel, and this is my heartfelt pitch for it. 

I’ve made some rather unserious posts about how irredeemable my characters are and how some men have huge egos that could eclipse the sun. Don’t get me wrong! That’s definitely part of it. However, I wanted to share more about why I wrote this book and what I hope you’ll get from it if you give it a chance.

I can boil down the plot to three exes who use a social media smear campaign to get revenge on a girl who broke their heart - it was definitely inspired by John Tucker Must Die and Gossip Girl in the beginning. But at its roots, it’s about how flawed people are. 

I hope what you get from it is that friendships and relationships can be super messy sometimes because that’s just human nature. Or that perception is everything at the end of the day, and communication is the only way to cut through some of that misperception and understand each other better. 

I hope that if you read it, you’ll get that boundaries, particularly with the people that hurt you, are a good thing and should be enforced and respected. I hope that you’ll second-guess your first impression of someone because it isn’t always telling the whole truth. But I hope that you trust your gut when it appears that your first impression was correct. 

I hope that you listen to your friends when they say that they’re worried about you or a situation that you’re in, because sometimes you really need that outside perspective when you can’t see the forest for the trees.

I hope that you’ll stop chasing perfection in yourself and your partner, if you have one. I hope that you give others room to change and evolve, but I also hope that you give yourself room to self-reflect and grow as well. 

So while it starts as a teen drama ‘Drama for the sake of the Drama’ vibe, I think there’s some emotional depth for anyone to find in it. I’d love to hear what you find in it by the end of the book.
