Who Am I

Cecilia/Lia, tbh I don’t care much what you call me except for variations of CC (please don’t)

Not a new to witchcraft, just new to talking about it on the internet (long time lurker tho)

Not Wiccan

Tbh I don’t really have a name for what I am so I use some different ones kinda randomly

I literally live in a cabin in (actually next to) the woods and I take my position as weird witchy woods person very seriously

I live in the Missouri Ozarks (in the foothills) and I like to connect my craft to that

Also some limited pantheon/deity stuff, mostly Roman and Germanic/Norse, but more as like…a face for greater things than an actual 1:1 experience

Unfortunately culturally Christian, and while my craft mostly avoids that unless it’s folk stuff or research stuff, I can’t deny that it probably influences/biases me in some areas so…yeah (I grew up Methodist and also have very mixed feelings about the denomination specifically, but this isn’t the time to get into that)

I also don’t like saying what “type” of witch I am per se, but I do like to categorize the different types of magic/work that I do and I think that makes things easier for tags

I’m an adult and I have a tendency to be pretty blunt about what’s going on in my life and that might sometimes include adult stuff (not in like a porn way, just in a very open way) and also curse a lot so uh yeah idk just if occasional batshit posts about sexuality/substances/taxes/whatever are going to bother you then you might skip along idk

What Is This Blog

Primarily a place to have ideas and inspiration written out as well as progress of stuff I’m working on

Maybe eventually mini tarot reading because I’m working on building that up but idk yet

Probably some writing stuff, though it’ll be largely related to nonfiction/magical writing

Probably a lot of aesthetic reblogs

Probably gardening/plant stuff

Maybe some recipes/spells that I’m working on just to have them concentrated in one spot

Been getting back into my spinning, spent a long while blending today, and I just ordered a little pin loom off Etsy which I’m super excited about

Sliced the fuck out of my thumb earlier so now my pocket knife has been confiscated by the Man & there’s blood on the tip of one of my spindles

On the bright side, I think it looks kinda cool

Silk is very quickly becoming one of my favorite things to spin

There was definitely a learning curve, mainly due to the general slipperiness, but once I sort of figured that out, I’m finding it to be one of the most intuitive fibers I use

Scared the hell out of myself bc I reached into my bag for something and forgot I had a little ball of yarn in there to practice crochet so I grabbed something soft and slightly firm and was immediately like “oh fuck there’s a dead rat in there or something” even tho I have no idea how that would possibly happen, but no, thankfully

I did practice a little too, it’s been a hot minute since I did any crochet

I can do the basic stitches but the minute I need to do another row I forget how to turn things and I fuck up lol

But still

Good to practice

Gotta practice more and get better and I’ll be fine

I feel like I haven’t posted about the garden like at all so I just wanted to give a little update

There’s a few things I’m not so sure about, but I’m taking this year as a learning year with where I am and what kind of conditions I have, so I’m trying to not take any losses or anything too hard. That said though, I don’t want to jinx it, but for the most part it’s doing pretty well!

I decided to go with plant starts for the most part this year and only ended up doing a few things from seed, mostly as a combination of being busy and somewhat lazy

I’ve gotten several cherry tomatoes so far, and there are many more on the plants that are still growing/ripening, as well as a bunch of green romas that I’m hoping will start ripening soon

Plus a couple of jalapeños and one little bell pepper, all still fairly small and growing, but I’ve never had good luck with peppers so I was pleased they were fruiting at all

Nothing else is fruiting yet (which I wasn’t expecting it to) but my cucumber is covered in flowers rn so I am hopeful

I’ve got a fair number of herbs, most of which are doing pretty well (except for two chamomile starts I got at the farmer’s market, which I think might die tbh). I have 4 kinds of mint (well, 3+catnip if you like semantics) all in one long container in the hopes that they’ll keep each other relatively in check, and it’s actually working fairly well so far

Also the first of the marigold seeds I planted finally flowered! There’s quite a few of them that have sprouted pretty well and I think might bloom soon, but I was delighted to see the first one today

I am NOT buying any more fiber until I make, spin, and finish at least two of the blends I already have planned (I want to buy more fiber so bad)

One of my favorite things about catholic v protestant discourse is when people refuse to admit the idea that there could be like…overlap? Like not even just in general doctrine or w/e but like I see posts that are like

“Protestants don’t do Lent” (it depends on the church/person ofc, and typically there are different rules than the Catholics have, but absolutely it’s still a thing)

“Protestants don’t care about saints” (although most don’t particularly pray to the saints or whatever, I have known Many protestants who definitely care, including some who have iconography of certain saints or find other ways to connect with them. They dont necessarily hold the same status as they do with catholics but that doesn’t mean all protestants completely ignore their existence)

“Catholic churches are the ones with stained glass windows” (ik this is usually a joke but it still irks me a little every time I see it lol. Like yes if you walk into a church and there are no stained glass windows it is probably more likely to be protestant than catholic but I have seen catholic churches without stained glass and I’ve seen many protestant churches with it)

“Catholics drink wine and Protestants drink juice for communion” (semi true but an over simplification. Can’t speak too much on the catholic side of this one. Also, if you’re in specifically a Methodist church it will almost definitely be grape juice. Other protestant churches, it’s really kind of a crapshoot for what you’ll get. Also, the reason for this is because “grape juice” (at the time it was actually non alcoholic wine) was popularized for communion by doctor and Methodist minister Thomas Welch. Quite a few Methodists I know are actively annoyed by other protestants using grape juice for communion bc they think it’s a methodist thing. (That’s also dumb, but a different kind of dumb). Also, yes, if you’re familiar with Welch’s Grape Juice, it comes from the same guy)

We appear to have either a carpenter ant or termite infestation and it is causing some major stress

We do have an exterminator coming (which freaks me out anyway tbh) but he can’t come til Monday

Also we’ve had some crazy weather today

So a deck of many things has either 13 OR 22 cards

And they’ve got them all assigned to cards they would correspond to in like, a normal deck of cards

But i could totally adapt it to the major arcana I think?

I mean like, Sun, Moon, and Star are all in there already, so is Fool

“Skull” could easily be Death

I could see “Ruin” for the Tower maybe?

And “Flames” for the Devil

Some of them would be trickier but I think I might try to match these all up for the campaign I’m working on bc I think it would add some cool flavor (and also potentially give me the chance to show off some of my tarot cards)

Fantastic new spell I just came up with, this can help with depression, anxiety, some kinds of neurodivergence, and all sorts of other mental health problems

It’s called “Take Your Fucking Meds”

Components:

1. Your fucking meds

2. Food or drink or whatever you need to take your meds with

Steps:

1: TAKE YOUR FUCKING MEDS

2: do it again tomorrow

3: do it again the next day

4: repeat

5: when you have taken them long enough that you’re like “I probably don’t even need to take these anymore I feel so much better now I can totally stop caring about taking my meds”, find someone you trust to say that out loud to so they can tell you that you’re being dumb

6: just take the goddamn meds pls

Not sure if it’s the excitement of eclipse day or if I’m just hypomanic or what but it I had to forcibly stop myself from getting bleach for my hair after deciding last night that I miss being blond(er)

Did it right after I watched the eclipse. It was super different from the last solar eclipse I experienced it, but very interesting
