this was a 5-minute sketch of “how are you feeling?” i drew myself (sort of) in the center and then some i don’t know what all around me. i thought it was looking like a sun and was maybe surprisingly brighter than i thought. but then i realized i’d drawn the rays coming inward, toward the center. which is exactly how i have been feeling and which i cannot put into words. isn’t art great?

this is the first in my paint your feelings series. it’s about staying open and seeing what comes up. i have no idea what this is but this is how i was feeling. one class member said it made her feel very sad and she recognized the depression it contains. 😕the colors are representative of how i felt for sure.

painting some paintbrushes. I painted my feelings and I really hated the way it turned out. I'll post that later, but I had to console myself by painting something simple and I only got as far as looking at my tub of paintbrushes.
Follow me in my journey to expand my creativity and grow through art. I’ll be creating every day: drawings, paintings, collections of doodles, patterns, and zines (and whatever else you suggest or I come up with).
To help me loosen up my stubborn perfectionism, I decided to draw one hundred dogs, any style, no particular aim in mind. And then to leave them and not judge, which is the hardest part for me. I used mostly ink pen, some brush pen, some colored pencil, and some gouache paint. These are the first 75 drawings. I like some of them, and really dislike others, but I can see the value in keeping them.
This makes me so happy.

Art for life. Art for peace and wellbeing. This is a project done in my art therapy class. We selected stones and painted them with our messages or emotions. I didn’t really like this at first, but now that I’ve put it on my entry shelf and see it every day, I am really appreciating it. I turn it over to one side or the other depending on what I’m feeling.
