“Mm…” Inhaling a bit, she allows her eyes to flutter close for a moment and allowing herself to be indulged by the flowery scents and nostalgia for a moment. “Well… it reminds me a bit of my parents.” she adds quietly and a sad smile tugs at her lips. Where were they now… “It’s beautiful, really. Not much compared to the gym’s … still beautiful, needless to say.” She looks up at Thorton and tilts her head to a side, wondering whether he was getting bored from staring at these nature stuff all day long… Erika didn’t mind in the slightest but as for Thorton… “Thank you, really… though, is doing this boring you…? We could always go back to the factory if you’d like… I wouldn’t mind…”

I'm gonna be on hiatus from now until 20th of January because school is killing me and by then my brother will be gone~

Nature Princess: Sinister Scientist

Well that had been easy. The pokémon had simply volunteered for his research. But now came the delicate part: How would he handle the research? He could either be nice and actually help the gym leader out, or use the Leafeon for his own, more dangerous research. He could always blame it on an accident, because, well, those sometimes happen in science.

Though he felt a little uncomfortable with the threat of being hunted down, should things go wrong. Not that her pokémon would be much of a challenge, but it surely would attract a lot of unwanted attention.

Perhaps he should just start by accepting the volunteer and then come up with the rest of his plans.

“Alright then, it seems he’s eager to help out. I promise I’ll be good to him, please don’t worry. I wouldn’t dare to hurt him.” The scientist said with a bright smile.

“I think I will need a few days to run some tests and come up with the best solution, but that won’t be much of a problem, no?”

To be completely honest, Erika was a bit apprehensive of letting her pokemon undergo some sort of research or anything of that sort.. but she wasn't one to argue with them either. Since Leaf had volunteered, she saw no wrong in not letting him, and knew that he was completely capable of taking care of himself n case anything went wrong.

What she had told him about her Pokemon wasn't much of a threat, more of a notification of what were to happen if he harmed Leaf in any way. Coincidentally enough, Leaf was the smallest of her entire Pokemon team, if not the most boldest as well. Her other Pokemon simply adored the Eeveelution, and she was certain that they would hunt him down if anything were to happen to Leaf.

A small smile graces her features at what he had said and she nods, "He is. A bit bold.. to my surprise." she laughs softly and glances over at him, "...Alright.. That's good to hear."

"Um... I see no problems with that-- ah, does that mean... you'll be taking Leaf for a while?" the Celadon Gym Leader tilts her head to a side, pursing her lips. "...Well.. it's not like I have anything against that... alright."

Thorton was gentle when holding her hand, making sure not to squeeze or let his palms sweat. Despite being nervous, he tried to force his body not to show it. The resturant’s back entrance was where they entered the large garden, many thick leaves and tall trees almost blocking the sun’s rays in some spaces. Thorton figured she had better places for plants back home but least this was something to remind her of home, no? Besides; if she had to leave soon he wanted to make a good ending impression

Erika noticed that he was holding her hand with extreme gentleness and a soft giggle had escaped her lips at the thought of how Thorton appeared to be so gentlemanly to her. As the both of them went through the back entrance of the restaurant hand-in-hand, her eyes widen in surprise at the sight of the plants all around her, as if she had entered some sort of tropical paradise as she had walked in. Her hazel brown eyes scan past the trees and flowers with awe before she gives him a gentle smile, "It's really beautiful, Thorton. Thank you for bringing me here..."

“Battling skills, hm?” Colress put a finger to his lips, deep in thought. “Well, if you want to be stronger, perhaps I could be of service. I am researching Pokémon strength after all~”

He smiled warmly at the gym leader. Perhaps she could be of use to him in his research, if only he could convince her to help him.

“I am… testing a few things at the moment to enhance Pokémon strength, but I still need some test subjects that’ll partake in battles. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt them, it’s more of an upgraded vitamin than anything else really. I just suddenly thought of it that your Pokémon could be the perfect test subjects.”

Erika tilts her head to a side, wondering what he was talking about until he had said that he was researching Pokemon strength. Her eyes widen a little and she wasn't in the least skeptical of his words.. just, uncertain.

She tucks in a stray piece of her dark hair behind her ear, which had somehow slipped out. Pursing her lips, she thinks for a brief moment, before her Leafeon had somehow released itself out of its pokeball. He looks up at her, and gives her a firm nod, showing that he wouldn't mind.

"...Leaf..." she murmurs quietly, in which the Eeveelution replies with the shake of its head and slight smile. "... Leafeon seems to be willing... but promise me you won't hurt him, okay Colress? If you were to hurt him... my other Pokemon will come after you. They would do so, even I weren't to command them to do as such."

“It wasn’t that obvious as in you desiring to leave, it was obvious through your nature and your body language that you longed to be outside. I knew that you had interest, you wouldn’t call me a friend if you didn’t have interest. Or at least, that is what I am receiving.” He stood up and walked around to her end of the table, extending his hand out to her. “Shall we…?”

A faint red hue tinges her cheeks and she laughs softly. "Ah... I see. That is... true as well." She gives him a gentle smile and and looks over at the garden, not noticing that he had walked over to her side. Only when he spoke did she notice his presence beside her and looks up at him abruptly. "Eh? A-ah... Of course..." Taking his hand, she stood up from her seat and brings herself to stand beside him, "...Let's go."

“Well not much makes me happy.. I’m rather one to be content than happy. But regardless, it would make me happy to see you happy… Would you like to go for a walk in the garden now? I know that you keep looking outside like you want to go.” He gave her a small smile.

"..Oh..." her smile had faded away upon him saying that, her hazel eyes looking away briefly but immediately focuses back onto him when he mentions the garden. "--Ah..." she smiles gently back at him and takes the remaining pieces of the cake and finishes it off. "...Of course. But... was it really that obvious? I didn't mean to appear disinterested of our conversation..."

"Nervous?" she repeats quietly with a raise of an eyebrow. She couldn't tell why he was nervous, since well, this wasn't anything all that awkward after all. "You're fine... really." A gentle smile tugs at her lips as she lets a soft laugh escape her lips, "Okay then. It's settled... we'll both make sure that each other... are happy. And I like seeing you happy.. too, Thorton." Some way or another, she was going to make sure that she kept her promise, even if it meant calling him daily to check on him.

Giving the other a soft smile, she tilts her head to a side and laughs softly, nodding as well. "Of course we are... I've said that from the beginning... remember? When you asked to be friends... I said yes." The Gym Leader looks over at him with a gentle smile and takes a deep breath. "So from now on... I'll make sure that you stay happy as much as I can.. okay? Because.... that's what friends are for... right?"

Placing a finger on her lips, she gives him a bright smile, before uttering a single word. "Friends." Nodding a bit, she laughs lightly and tucks a piece of her stray hair behind her ear. "... I might love nature and Pokemon... but the thing I hold dear to the most.. are friends... Thorton, we're friends now, right?"

"There is none at all? What about the trainers at your gym? I can't imagine there is none capable of caring for your gym. ...Of course, I'm not implying you should just hand it over to whoever asks for it. On the other hand, I can imagine it's an awful lot of work to maintain a gym, take care of the plants and fight challengers."

Colress laughed a little.

"I suppose it's a tough life, no? I'm sure you will find someone someday, trust me."

“Oh?” she moistens her lips and hums under her breath, “Hmm… I’ve never heard of that. …But maybe one of those reporters came into the gym when I wasn’t around…” A slight frown crosses her expression for a moment and she sighs, “No matter… what has pass, has pass…”

“No… it’s not a problem at all…” she smiles warmly and her gaze lowers down to her hands, “…I’m not much of the type that loves battling.. to be honest, my interest is more to botany… I inherited the Celadon Gym from my parents since it was their wish… so simply said…” she pauses and nods, “I’m merely fulfilling their wishes… that’s all.”

“They filmed without permission? Well, that’s… rather rude of them, if I may say so.” He smiled at her last remark. “That’s a good way of looking at things. No sense dwelling in the past, it’ll only slow us down or prevent us from making progress.” His smile faltered for just a bit, before getting replaced by a happier expression.

“I thought correctly then. Have you never thought about doing something else than leading the gym? Perhaps giving it up to someone else and only tend to the plants?”

"...Aha... I suppose you could say it that way." she laughs a bit softly and sighs softly, "Well... there's no point in looking back.. the way I see it." Pausing for a bit, she nods in agreement and smiles warmly at him, "That is true as well, in its own way."

"..Hmm?" Blinking a bit in surprise, she contemplates Colress' words for a moment, a thoughtful expression shown on her face as she did so. "... As a matter of fact... I have. But I also did think about who I would hand down the position... but there's no one." a sad laugh escapes her lips and she looks down at her hands, "...Not a single soul that I can hand it down to... and since it's my inheritance, it's my responsibility to be... well, responsible for it."
