———————- ◙ The reason why Lucy didn’t cry at first when she heard that her Papa died is not because of the lack of love she feels for Jude. But rather the opposite one. She’s conflicted, unable to process of the unforeseen event. In fact, she loves her Papa as much as she loves her Mama. To which the reason behind the action. She loves him too much that she wondered if her feelings were able to reach her Papa’s side. Wondered if ever he realized how much he means to her, especially when her Mama died. Wondered, that even for the tiniest bit of time he loves her equally as she does. And upon reading the honest letter – her questions were answered. She was loved and always will be. That very answer is what she’d been looking for this entire time. She cried, happy to know that someone so important viewed her as an important and special person in their life as well. That she indeed – was loved.
