That was a new thing now. So many new things happening all at once, it almost made Johnny feel overwhelmed but he held down the feeling. No one has ever just decided to ask him anything. But he felt a little guilty that he had seemed down. “I’ll….I’ll be okay. I don’t want to be a burden.” More like he didn’t wanna go through the process of explaining that he turns into a feline once a month.

“You’re no burden. It was my choice to come over and speak with you.” Lyra gave him a small smile. She didn’t want him to believe that it bothered her to check on him, in most cases Lyra was overly motherly, even to those people she didn’t know well. A side effect of never having her own children, she’d been told. She wanted to keep everyone safe.

Johnny wasn’t even used to anyone talking to him, nonetheless getting closer to him to talk to him. It was definitely a new experience. And he didn’t know if he liked it or not, he didn’t like anything new nowadays. “I uh…” He didn’t know whether to lie or tell the truth, it was a conflict really. He had a feeling he could trust her , but he didn’t want to have his feeling be wrong. “I’m fine..why?”

Lyra gave him a small smile. “Just thought I would ask. Just seemed a little...down?” So she’d been watching those around her for a little while, and there was just something about the young man that made her want to come and check on him. She would just blame it on her being overly worried about people she saw as being younger than her, and in this day and age, that was basically everyone.

Perhaps she was being nosy. Kol certainly warned her about putting her nose where it might not be wanted, but after nearly 300 years, she was pretty good at seeing when someone might just need a bit of caring and attention. Her eyes settled on the boy, and after a moment, Lyra moved over, small smile on her features. “Are you alright?”
