Summary:

Using the genetic material extracted from Yusuf al-Kaysani and Nicolò di Genova, Dr. Metak Kozak initiates Project Eos as an attempt to artificially replicate immortality through forced human trials. Nine embryos are created, implanted, and birthed under controlled conditions. The experiments she conducts represent a grotesque evolution of Steven Merrick’s work.

When Copley first uncovers the program, Kozak’s records declare total failure. "Group Gamma yielded no viable candidates. All subjects compromised beyond analytical utility." But six weeks later, an anonymous lab technician leaks damning footage. There is a single surviving child, a three year-old male designated "IL-9" with confirmed cellular regeneration and disease resistance.

The team must address the danger this discovery represents. Nicky and Joe are confronted with a child created from their stolen blood.

The Old Guard 2’ Returns for Reshoots Next Month, Set for 2025 Release on Netflix [Exclusive]

"The Old Guard 2 wrapped production in September 2022, and as per our own analysis of when Netflix releases its films, we expected it to arrive by the end of 2023, but we never heard anything about it. Now, the film is returning for a reshoot that will begin on October 7, 2024, in Vancouver, and will take 10 days to complete by October 18th, 2024. Although it's only 10 days long, this could still be very significant considering it caused this kind of long delay.

Although I don't want to speculate much on the release date, we surely expect ‘The Old Guard 2’ to be released sometime in 2025 on Netflix. Any further delay is likely to make the fans lose interest as there is a plan for the third film to complete the trilogy as well. Surely, nobody would like to wait another five years to watch a third film."

Nicolo Genova, or Nicky to his American friends, is just trying to get through his PhD program. He's writing his dissertation on Post-classical homoerotic poetry, but he cannot find anyone who speaks an extinct dialect of Arabic so he can translate a famed love poem by a little known poet, al-Kaysani.

Strangely enough, his friend knows a professor on campus who can translate the poem. What starts as a simple request for assistance on his dissertation blossoms into something that Nicky -- shy, reserved Nicky who abandoned his plans for the priesthood months before ordination -- had never imagined for himself: true love.

What he doesn't know is that Dr. Joseph Jones (his handsome, erudite, kind, lovely Joe) is harboring a secret too large for anyone to believe -- and that secret might just cost them everything.

“You’re in trouble, Candidate Thousand-Sixty-Nine.”

He must be enjoying this, Nicolò thinks bitterly. “It’s obvious, isn’t it?” he replies, trying vainly to slow his descent by changing the trajectory of his fall – no point in landing in the designated spot in pieces.

“Not enough stones and a malfunctioning chute.”

Yusuf’s voice is muffled by static, but Nicolò could imagine the sneer.

“Are you going to tell me about my poor math skills next?” he manages. “Like how I chose brick instead of membrane structure?”

It is silent for a few seconds before he answers. “You should have chosen the membrane. Our dummies would have lived.”

Holy Mother take this man.“Yeah,” he says. “No shit.” It would be nice if he could live now; he’s not a screaming dummy in a simulation.

Then he feels a tug on his pack and looks up to see Yusuf cutting off his defective parachute.

“What are you doing?”

“I have no time to wait for you to get over your pride and ask me for help, Priest.”

The team is woken by a dream of a new immortal. He’s easy enough to track down - Nicolò di Genova, Italian, age 30 - but… he’s not exactly what they were expecting.

“Copley,” Andy began, her voice surprisingly cool and collected. “Tell us what we’re looking at here.”

“This is precisely why I wanted to do my due diligence,” Copley explained. “From what you’ve all told me about your pasts, I was expecting a soldier or something along those lines. But you’re looking at Father di Genova.”

“He’s… a priest,” Joe said slowly, wide-eyed and disbelieving.
