something that has always bothered me about the people who call for the censorship of fiction is that they are so busy creating imaginary victims- that they don't even listen when surviors of trauma tell them time and time again that writing or consuming dark things in fiction (including rape) can be therapeutic for some individuals. they hurt real victims while trying to "protect" characters that don't exist.
