This was taken a few years back during E.A.S.T. The artist had welded an iron trunk to aluminum leaves. It was pretty crazy the amount of effort put into it.

Roid Week 2013 Day 4 - Image 1
Took this back in May of this year when I went up to Illinois to watch my brother, Jamie, graduate. It was a short trip, just 4 days!, but it was worth it to see him before he went off to Army basic. Spent the last day before leaving walking around in Danville where my dad works. Unfortunately for the towns people this city isn't doing so hot economically but this leads to some great shots of older buildings because they haven't been replaced. This one in particular was built in the 1910s and has a giant bank vault door that was used to secure Furs back when they were popular and expensive.

Roid Week 2013 Favorites - Day 2
Gallery here. Today has been a crazy ride watching the views and favorites on yesterdays submission, Stand Up Chuck. It apparently made it to #78 on Flickr's Explore page yesterday. As of right now it has 2,371 views and 81 favorites, which is just insane. Very cool.

Roid Week 2013 Day 2 - Image 2
This was actually taken at the first meeting of the Austin Instant Film Enthusiasts meetup. It was a bit later in the evening, so I was a bit unsure how it would come out even at 3000 ISO. Luckily this shot is what reminded me about my stack of goops (negative side of the FP-3000B packfilm) that I had been saving for when I acquired a scanner. I now have most of those scanned.
Two lessons learned from scanning goops:
1. There is way, way more detail in the negative versus the positive.
2. Goops don't like sitting around a long time. It causes more salt crystals to form which show up as purple when you invert them in photoshop. Maybe if you sealed them in a bag with some silica gel or something.

Taken at the second meeting of the Austin Instant Film Enthusiasts meetup. I was taking a picture of Freeland's tattoo'd leg and got distracted by the conversations the group was having, causing me to accidentally pull two white tabs... no bueno. That is what caused the odd orange yellow streaks. it still works for the most part though.
Holy crap, the first day of Roid Week saw my flickr stream get something like 700 hits putting me over 30,000 views for my account. May not be a whole lot for some but I thought that was pretty cool.

Stand Up Chuck
Roid Week Day 1 - Image 1! I love this week every year. I usually try and go out during this week to create and share new images but luckily for the busy times I have quite a backlog of images to share as well.
Took this photo with Anthony at Brushy Creek park a few years back some time before he got his lung transplant. It was a pretty awesome day of goofing off and brotherly bonding.

Roid Week 2013!
It is that time of the year again, Polaroid Week 2013! A week set aside every year to promote the use and sharing of instant film. Love it.
Every day this week I will be posting the two photos that I post to the Flickr pool and at least every other day posting a link to a Flickr gallery of my favorites.
Look forward to some amazing work from instant film photographers the world over!

Took this while the Play Me I'm Yours art installation was active in Austin. This piece of poetry was tied to the railing of the Pfluger pedestrian bridge. I'll never know why the poet decided to leave it there but it seemed oddly sobering. I hope they got whatever they needed out of it.

Bishop Arts
Probably should have posted this way, way before now but here we are. Took this a few months back at the Instant Film Society's polawalk in the Bishop Arts district in Dallas. Interesting little Austinesque area. I'm not one much for antiques (other than cameras) or other bricka brack but there were some cool little shops here. Can't wait for the next walk that I can attend.
Polaroid Chocolate film shot with a Polaroid 250. I have to make sure I remember that Polaroid film does not self terminate when going from Fuji packfilm to original stuff.

Mayfield Beauty
I recently re-uploaded a higher quality version of this photo which I originally posted here. Two years ago... wow. How time passes. As I said before this was a photo fun day with Melissa and my brother Anthony. Two of my favorite people in the world. We took a lot of great photos that day. One of the last times I had my Mamiya RB67 before it was stolen.

Frozen Beauty
This was taken a few years back at Butler Park during one of our photo fun days. It also happened to be in the mid 30's, which for Austin is pretty damn cold. It was a fun day.
Polaroid SX-70 on 600 film using a ND4 filter over the lens. Although it didn't quite capture the frost like I wanted it still came out great.

Empty Vault
One of the photos from the roll of Fuji Velvia 100 I took in Danville, IL. It was the day after my brother's HS graduation. Had to wake up at the crack of dawn in order to go to work with my dad so he could drive me to the airport later in the day. It was pretty cool though because the building he works in is from the 1910s or so. Plus the area around it was chock full of old architecture.

It's been a long weekend. Went to IL to watch my younger brother graduate HS. Took some pictures using Velvia 100 for the first time, hopefully those come out how I want them. The day I get back, someone rear ends me pretty good. Now I feel like shit. Getting a massage tomorrow so hopefully that helps.

I shot this quick Polaroid of my cousin Susan a few years back on the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas. We were all in town visiting Anthony in the Hospital and took the day to kind of take our minds of things and enjoy the place. Unfortunately, the River Walk is one of those places you remember fondly from when you are a kid but is a veritable shit hole now. Oh well. Still time well spent with family.
