Usually during the summer I sit and edit/rework one of my stories but... It's been hard to find motivation to write.

Finished up a collab, which is always fun but my solo projects don't spark any joy anymore.

This day and age sucks cause most everything is just numbers and algorithms... Sharing one's work feels worthless.

Attempted to play through Nanotale...

I love typing games but they're usually very 'on the rails'. This being an exploratory adventure was very nice and the whole aesthetic was charming and, in general, i had a great experience.

Unfortunately, I am unable to finish the game as a bug is softlocking the final level for me and no matter how many times I restart, repair files... I just cannot get past the encounter, which is pivotal for reach the end boss.

So... unfortunately, this has to go into the 'broken' pile for now.

Just finished playing Evil West...

and wow, that was... a game. It wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't good. Very typical, linear action beat-em-up game... which was weird because for a game that's main aesthetic is the 'wild west, there is VERY little gun play. Your main weapon is this gauntlet contraption and the main way you fight is through melee.

The story had a lot of potential but falls very flat, the game play is very formulaic and janky fight controls. Enemy and boss designs were neat but fight mechanics felt like an afterthought.

So ya... there's apparently a co-op mode with this so maybe that'd make a funny chill stream with my partner but ya... i enjoyed playing but boy I would not play this game on any difficulty higher than the easiest and probably won't be replaying any time soon.

Just finished LOST EMBER: Rekindled Edition....

and boy, what an emotional punch this game has. Very similar vibes to playing games like Journey but that pulled on the heartstrings a bit harder than I expected. Nice little game experience with good vibes and a, honestly, well told story. Beautiful game, lots to explore though some directions get a bit lost towards the later half of the game but it didn't really diminish the experience. Lot of collectibles but hell if I could find them.

Just recently finished (paused really) playing through Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora... and gotta say this game surprised me. I had a good time.

I only played the base game, skipping both base DLCs and the 'From the Ashes' expansion but I had sunk over 50 hours for my initial playthrough, mostly distracted by all the side stuff.

Typical open world 'quests' and side missions but honestly, it was really cool to explore Pandora and the game remained challenging to the point I had to alter how I approached situations a few times due to aggressive predators like Thanators and Stormgliders or that RDA bases were becoming harder to just 'run and gun' through despite all my health upgrades and such.

I know this 'world' / series gets shit on and stuff but I rather like the Na'vi and Pandora and making a video game on it was a good way to get a more 'in-depth' exploration of this world.

I hope if more games are made in this world (they should be) they go with a B-list or indie studio instead of Ubisoft or some other AAA shit-heel. I can see why people did not like it was, initially, locked to first-person, as it was very difficult to play in first person and I played exclusively in the third-person mode they added with the 'From the Ashes' expansion.

After about 28 hours and near 40 attempts, I'm gonna take a break from playing Hades, as I am constantly beating my head against the 4th level and Hades himself.

BUT, holy hell this game is super fun!! I really want to finish it but, atm, the I'm just at a brickwall and at a stage I am just grinding/level and refining my build(s) so take a break, play another game, come back to this and try to get past Hades, finally, so I can keep pushing through the game.

Still not really sharing much... of well, anything, lately because honestly? it's hard to find motivation when no one really interacts with what I do make anymore.

Ya ya, someone's gonna bring out the 'do it for you!' spiel and not understand that, ya I do this for me but also I really enjoy the interaction, the connection, being a creative and making things (art, writing, etc) brings but this day and age, the world's on fire and it's all about volume and "quick" content... things I am not interested in doing nor have fun with.

When that connection, that interaction dries up, it's not nearly as enjoyable, cause ya it's for me but I also share with the intention of someone to connect, to interact... to just share these thoughts and feelings and find some kind of understanding, even briefly.

I like sharing but when it feels like you have no one to share with, it gets harder and harder to make more.... to share.

I'm still writing, but it's very slow. I'm streaming but I need to revisit my schedule cause the night streams are a bit taxing. I still paint but it's taking me longer due to health and I still draw but it never feels good enough to share, as I am still relearning.

Just finished playing Jedi Fallen Order...

Honestly? I am not much for Star Wars... anything, because an ex made it their entire personality and just, in general, there are parts of the fandom I've had encounters with that just soured it for me. So, don't have a lot of good associations

BUT this game was really fun and I liked the fact you had to explore, no fast travel. Backtracking was worthwhile and I thought the level design was pretty well thought out, if not a bit irritating for some locations. Combat was pretty straightforward yet gave a decent toolkit to experiment with different tactics without being overpowered.

Also... Darth Vader being the terrifying sunofabitch that he's supposed to be.... god-damn.

Lately, I've been a bit more focused on my 'original' pieces. The BG3/fanfic fire has kinda calmed down as of late.

Jorunn sits up, looking at her lover with concern. Sex was the furthest thing from her mind now, since there was a reason they were having this conversation. To think such a powerful creature was unsure, timid… self-loathing even, was quite a shock. The air is heavy with the dragon's soured and depressed mood, a complete change from their shared passion a few moments ago.

"I… am sorry. This is not how I had planned on this happening." Sennar admits, sitting up right and her tail coiled over her lap, expression one of deep shame.

"What was your plan?" She asks, straightening her posture.

"I expected you'd mount me and we'd be done." Sennar shrugs. "I did not expect courting to be… like this. It was not my intention to burden you with my weakness."

"Tch, you're not weak." Jorunn says, leaning against her side. "When I found you, you had survived a massive journey across seemingly endless ocean, crashing into the side of a mountain and attacked by wyverns… AFTER you had been brutally attacked by another dragon, nonetheless." She looks up, feeling the dragon's gaze on her and smiles. "And it takes even deeper strength to be so vulnerable, after everything you've been through, Sennar."

Sennar shivers when Jorunn presses a warm kiss to her shoulder, surprised how such a mundane action makes her feel calm… safe.

"You are not disappointed?"
