Making an intro post because I think it is needed at this point.

You can call me Holly. I'm mexican, jewish, queer and disabled. I am bilingual and I speak spanish and english fluidly. My pronouns are he/she in english and él/ella in spanish.

This blog exists mostly for reblogs and for me to express certain opinions I have about political shit or that kind of stuff.

I am left leaning on the political spectrum.

Although I don't have any DNIs per se, I won't tolerate this kind of behaviour on my blog:

-Homophobia, transphobia, TERFs.

-Racism and white supremacism. Black lives matter, brown lives matter.

-Sexist and misogynistic ideas.

-Antisemitism, Islamophobia, antitheist shit.

-Nazism, fascism, any type of autoritarian mentality.

-Censorship. Antishippers and bigots will most likely get blocked rather than getting an answer.

-Ableism. We are not inspirational porn.

-Xenophobia, of any kind.

-Saneism. People with mental disorders, including the scary ones, have right and deserve to be treated with dignity.

-Cop mentality. Not everything illegal is immoral and not everything legal is moral. If it doesn't hurt anyone let it be.

Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov was a lieutenant colonel of the Soviet Air Defence Forces who became known as “the man who single-handedly saved the world from nuclear war” for his role in the 1983 Soviet nuclear false alarm incident. The incident was unknown to the public until it was revealed shortly before the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

On 26 September 1983, during the Cold War, the satellite-based early-warning system of the Soviet Union reported the launch of multiple intercontinental ballistic missiles from the United States. At the time, tensions with the U.S. were on edge, and high officials of the Soviet Union, including General Secretary Yuri Andropov, were thought to be highly suspicious of a U.S. attack.

Petrov checked ground-based radars which had not detected a launch, noted that the warning system had detected only 1-5 missiles instead of the hundreds that would have been expected in the event of a first strike, and chose to mark the system alert as a false alarm. This decision is seen as having prevented a retaliatory nuclear attack, which would have probably resulted in immediate escalation of the Cold War stalemate to a full-scale nuclear war and the deaths of hundreds of millions of people. Investigation of the satellite warning system later confirmed that the system had indeed malfunctioned.

While it is highly probable that if Petrov had reported this incident to his superiors they would have come to the same conclusion, it was a point in time when many people feared that the Cold War might become hot. Andropov, the new Soviet leader, was considered weak by the US president Ronald Reagan, and the Western countries were deploying new missile installation in Europe to counter existing missiles in the Eastern Bloc. This fear of nuclear war meant that at this time the peace movement in most western countries reached one of its highest levels.

it's so heartbreaking that a popular person like lil Nas x can receive so little kindness for what happened to him, (he had a psychotic episode and ran through the Streets experiencing psychosis) and this lack of care and concern from people lies in the fact that he is a queer black man, AN OPENLY queer black man.

he was assaulted by police for rightfully defending himself from them and mostly everyone online just joked about the situation. it's unfortunate that black queers can't do anything, including being vulnerable and mentally ill without facing ridicule, humiliation, and being physically harmed.

I'm gonna tell ya how it is:

black people of all sorts, including the queer demographic which is extremely vulnerable, are not taken seriously when it comes to our mental health, even within the community itself.

seeing a queer black person like me who also struggles with mental health and illness and psychosis get treated like this not only triggers me from my past experiences, but makes me worried about other black folk like me who aren't as strong willed. we are not given the same grace.

my last addition to this post is that black people who struggle with mental health and are disordered are more likely to be killed/assaulted by police during a crisis. acab forever.
