An arborist AKA a tree caretaker and tree surgeon from Redondo Beach, California had to watch the death of one of his favorite trees, which was ordered by the mayor. Although he lost a great battle, he won the war. Find out how he avenged the death of his 30-year-old pepper tree named Clyde.

Honestly please watch this. It’s so nice to see witchcraft from a perspective that isn’t white american/northern European. Its great to see the traditions of witchcraft that come from something other than wiccan tradition.

It also proves that someone can be christian/catholic and a witch, something so many witches (and christians) are quick to dismiss.

In my opinion, it also kind of shows why traditions of witchcraft in other regions of Europe and the British isles disappeared. This is something that I’ve read before, and I feel this somewhat supports the theories. With the modernization of Europe came modern medicine and psychological/psychiatry practices. As we saw in this film with the woman having nighares, witchcraft and modern medicine are usually competing industries. Because medicine is backed by tangible scientific evidence, it became easy to discredit the work of witches/other spirit and magic workers. And not only was it their work that was discredited, but they were even personally attacked by being called liars who intentionally try to cheat people out of their money.

In the region where this was filmed, however, it seems people rely on both medicine and witchcraft. I loved seeing that both of these practices could coexist because in my mind that is the ideal world. Medicine is there to heal your physical body, while witchcraft is there to aid your spirit. Sometimes you need both because phsycial ailments can often be linked to a spiritual issue. I believe that it is a major flaw that the modern west has completely forgotten about, and in some cases abandoned, the human spirit.
