The term “unskilled labor” serves to subconsciously convince us to devalue that labor and those who perform it, despite the fact that such labor is essential for the basic functioning of our society

No it fucking doesn’t it is to denote a class of labor that does not require outside education and can be taught to the vast majority of the population, just because it is unskilled does not mean it is not a valued part of society. You need janitors and cooks and garbagemen and exterminators and everything else but that does not change the fact that you could teach any able bodied, able minded, person to do that job. It isn’t a fucking mind game you god damn retards, have you ever BEEN a janitor? Or a garbage man? Or part of a maintenance crew? Roofed houses? Plumbed toilets? We are very fucking aware that the job could be taught to anyone and that our most valuable asset is the time we’ve worked the job and accumulated knowledge, just like a lot of jobs. I don’t feel inferior because my job could theoretically be done by a complicated robot, stop shifting your outrage onto other people. Be outraged for yourself, in your own job, or fuck off.
