And speaking of Cepheope and her group, I'll go ahead and share what I have on Cephe and Nacilla's character sheets. 🤍💙
Cephe and Nacilla are much closer to having finalized sheets compared to Nara (thank goodness, the WIP pile is getting BIG.) I'm still playing around with some outfits and maybe some facial and detail closeups, but... they're more or less done! If life gives me a chance, I'm hoping I'll have these done relatively soon. I'll post the uncensored versions to FA too. 🤍
It's been a while (I only post once in a while as it is, haha) and I've been struggling with some life issues, which has made things even more difficult for me, BUT... I did want to at least share a little something... you know, to fill the void. 🌌 Anyway! That aside... Here, we have yet another WIP to add to the pile, yes, but a little more on Nara as I go. 💎 (As always, the uncensored versions of these sheets will be made available on FA once they're officially said and done.) The markings on her hair (ticked hair) may or may not stay, it's undecided. They play well with the markings of her wings in her wyvern form (which I swear I'll share with you all at some point as well!) is why I decided to entertain it. If it does stay, I intend to find a better way of portraying those markings/ticked hair. That being said, this is very much a rudimentary preview of how I might go about approaching a character sheet for Nara:
It's still little more than a thought, but I like this presentation so much that I almost want to do it with Cepheope and her crew's sheets... eventually. 😆 I have to commit to what I have, for now. I cant keep changing my mind or I'll never get anything done. 🤍
Part of the "bigger and better things" I wanted to move on to included finally getting around to sharing this too! This and introducing another little side story and world I've been developing.
(And it's not connected to the Lunai, believe it or not!)
Introducing Nara. 💎
I've been on a kick of delving back into my childhood and bringing back a lot of older (some MUCH older) characters, worlds and stories - with a more modern twist, that is. Among these ideas was this gal (back from 2003, by the way!)
I'll talk more about her and her ✨ very fantastical ✨ story when I tidy things up a little more here. For now, just another wip to add to my absolutely massive wip pile. 🤍
🤔 For whatever reason, I've been hesitant about sharing these early character/species concept WIPs and I'm officially throwing that hesitation out the window and just going for it, now. 😆 So! I haven't been sharing a lot, BUT... I have been working on a lot! Here is a series of three different WIPs on three different sapient races present within the world of the Lunai, including the Lunai themselves. Some of them have received more work than others, but that's a-okay. Still going to share all three. 🐠 👽 🦅
First, we have the Peigua! - (pronounced "pay-gua" or "pay-ee-gua") Their design is still in its early stages and I haven't even begun to express all the different fin shapes and colors they can come in. Some alterations to the hands may also be in order, but for now, have some preliminary fish folk concept work.
Secondly, we obviously have some Lunai. - (pronounced "loon-eye") Nothing really new here to report that I haven't already shared, seeing how all my work has centralized around them, thus far... however, this concept is a bit different than the other two in the sense that these are specific characters who I have concept art in the making for! These Lunai are among some of the main characters featured in Cepheope's backstory. 📖 Characters featured from left to right: Nacilla, Damacles, Casseus, Cepheope.
And lastly, we have the Kimpiko. - (pronounced "kim-peek-oh") These funky, feathery noodles are actually an OLD, old design from my childhood brought back to life. If you think they look weird now, you should have seen the first little MS Paint rendition of this critter from my youth! They actually do come in a wide variety of colors that I'm still brainstorming and playing around with, which I plan on sharing in a later update.
I know, it's been ages since I've posted again and I'm sorry. Anyway... I'll admit, I kind of hit that point where I just wanted to be able to call this one done... I could have spent more time on it, but, ah, I just wanted to move on to bigger and better things, really! 😅 (And I know it's been forever and a day since I posted here and I figured I'd go ahead and get this one out of the way ASAP.) To reiterate on this one's previous little background story: As dangerous as these alien moths can be, the wilds of their alien world can be just as dangerous! Here, Damacles can be seen carrying Cepheope after rescuing her from a rough encounter with a wild beast; their hair once again reveals the Lunai's special ability of manipulating and weaponizing hair. The blood staining it does not belong to them, in contrast to the blue-toned damage Cephe retains. The title "a hard lesson to learn" has since built upon itself, given that this isn't the first time Dama has saved Cephe. To realize, despite all her frustrations (like coming to despise most of her own kind) the lone wolf route has its limitations is a resounding theme in Cephe's story... her tale is a rather frustrating and bittersweet one to follow. 🤍

“Exploration is in our nature. We began as wanderers, and we are wanderers still. We have lingered long enough on the shores of the cosmic ocean. We are ready at last to set sail for the stars.”

I know it's been ages since I've shared anything here and I am so sorry about that! At the very least, I wanted to share something in the rainbow spirit since June's still here. Not too long ago, I discovered Cephe had a childhood friend who she grew to be close with as the years went by. Very close. 🤍 As always, it'll be something I'm bound to get into a little more later (if ever, haha, let's be realistic!) For now, have a wip of some pretty girls. Ah, to be a beautiful alien moth lady in love in a sunset-kissed garden. 🌷💕
It's been a while since I've dropped an update for the Lunai diversity series as well, so... here we go! Here, we have a very slender Southern Gold Lunai male, likely an aristocrat or wannabe aristocrat... because wannabe celebrities exist too, in some parts... hahaha! The Lunai culture shows little to no discretion when it comes to gender and clothing. It's a free for all, meaning what we would interpret as crossdressing in some societies is very commonplace among their people. 🤍
Been trying to worm my way out of art burn out recently... in the process, I tried my hand at something simpler and a little experimental of Cephe. 🤍 🤔 I'll admit, I'm still puzzling over easier ways of designing Lunai antennae... don't mind me as I brainstorm!

I know it has been forever and a day since I've posted anything and I apologize. I'm about to change that! 🤍 Ultimately, I just wanted to call this one done. So, we're done! Finally. It's finally over. 😆 “Star Seeker.” 🌠 Threw in the progression of this piece as well for kicks. Just as a reminder: I'm still relatively new here, so I don't have a lot of information on the Lunai yet. However, if alien moths are your jam, I encourage sticking around! I plan on covering a lot more on them as I go. 👽
