I really hope that whatever the New Romantics have planned happens soon and doesnât take another decade. The anticipation, gaslighting, and breadcrumbing are making me feel crazy and stressing me out really bad. It would be nice to know whatâs real or not and if I can actually trust my judgment and perceptions or if I need a grippy sock vacation bc I legitimately canât tell anymore and everyone thinks Iâm delusional
Hereâs my hot take: whether Taylor Swift or the New Romantics have any intention of doing what we assume they are doing, at a energetic / subconscious / spiritual level they are making the same impact anyway because the scales are tipping in a way they simply donât have the power to stop anymore.
In one scenario, they get to be true, radical leaders of a new world. It is my loveliest hope that they choose this path because I think it would make for an incredibly powerful story. In the other scenario, this all backfires on them and they go down with the rest of the casually cruel. That can be their karma if theyâd like it to be. If theyâre all a bunch of phony, capitalist hogs, so be it.
Intentional or unintentional, all roads lead to a rebirth of society that is centered around Mother Earth, artists, intellects, queer communities, indigenous people, people of color, women, and children and that level of freedom for all is what I really care about. Iâll do my part and continue to advocate for ALL people to be free.
Iâll use my discernment until my discernment tells me otherwise. Who cares if weâre wrong? I think itâd be foolish to assume weâve got the entire story figured out anyway. I only care about being true to myself, speaking my mind, and using my gifts. I prefer to be optimistic at heart and keep my arms open to receive all of the positive, world-changing events that are occurring right now. At the core level, this is all just an opportunity to do our shadow work as a collective and as individuals and to remember what it means to protect, advocate for, and live from the soul. So thatâs where my focus is regardless of what a group of popstars do or donât do. Life is just neutral energy. Be intentional and direct it where you want it to go and results will follow regardless of who is in power.
Uh oh, looks like the Rep snake has gotten loose inside Tumblr. đ

Adding this photo from the new Vogue issue to the Olivia Rodrigo New Romantics discourse.
And the color of her ME! outfit matches the background in Oliviaâs photo - and also the color of the outfit that Taylor wore to the iHeartRadio awards.
âiâm definitely a lover girlâ âpopâs new romanticâ so much to uncover here
And she looks like sheâs covered in chains and shackles like so many others have been doing.
WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? (1966) dir. Mike Nichols
Sometimes being a Taylor Swift fan feels like that episode of Doctor Who where Rose absorbs the Tardisâs energy and then scatters messages throughout time and space to help guide them toward figuring out the truth of whatâs been going on. Are we sure sheâs not a time lord?
I saw Wuthering Heights last night and was blown away by the cinematography and its very clear parallels with Taylor Swiftâs own imagery and storytelling. In particular, Thrushcross Grange - the house where Catherine goes to live after marrying into wealth and opulence - was quite literally depicted as the Lover House, and it wasnât subtle. Architectural Digest and HGTV both did a tour of the house and discussed it in depth.
The most obvious parallel was having each room dedicated to a different color - a bright red library and staircase, light blue drawing room, gray dining room, Edgarâs green velvet bedroom, Isabellaâs purple pleated bedroom, and Catherineâs pink bedroom made out of her own skin. The use of red is particularly prominent, which is interesting since that color can symbolize elite power structures and selling your soul.
The dining room features a dollhouse, which is an exact replica of the main house. Isabella even made a voodoo doll of Catherine to live inside it, using hair that she collected from Catherineâs hairbrush. Isabella showed an obsession with Catherine (which didnât exist in the book) that makes me think of the way sheâs often played with to sell a fairytale. All the elaborate gowns added to that feeling, like swapping outfits on a paper doll. Casting Margot Robbie as the lead adds an extra layer since she also played Barbie. It shows the darker side of Barbieâs dreamhouse and Taylor Swift in the Lover house (or the Ivy house, hiding an affair from her husband).
The gardens are also intriguing. In some places theyâre very manicured with twisting hedges and outdoor tea parties, evoking Alice in Wonderland. While in other scenes theyâre a bit more overgrown with ivy and tree swings like in the Secret Garden. The stairs up to the drawing room (i.e., the light blue room) even had a fishbowl on each side like the 1989 room.
The production designer (Suzie Davies) and Margot Robbie both said that it was designed so that âanything living is caged in something.â There are high walls and hedges encircling the property, and all the creatures are trapped in some way (in fishbowls, a birdcage, a lamb inside a display case, a fish suspended in jelly).
As for the Wuthering Heights house, everything is brutalist and cold, but there was some evocative imagery there too, like a giant crack through the house and the chessboard mastermind floor. (There was also an elaborate chessboard in the drawing room at Thrushcross Grange).
[Spoiler]
Anyone familiar with the story knows that Catherine dies halfway through the book after going mad from having to choose between Edgar (high society, comfort) and Heathcliff (wild, untamed, raw emotion). The movie made this scene much more macabre than it was in the book, as sheâs literally closed inside walls made out of her own skin. It was Barbie dying in her dream house. It was Taylor trapped inside her own skin, dying behind the facade of the showgirl.
All of this was hinted at in the lead up to the movie, with Charli xcxâs soundtrack singing about the chains of love, and âIâm gonna die in this house.â Margot Robbie wearing Schiaparelli and Elizabeth Taylorâs necklace to the premier also set off some alarm bells (I was going to post about some cool Schiaparelli connections but havenât gotten around to it!) Overall, such a fascinating story thatâs being told, ultimately quite horrifying.
I donât think Taylor Swift is manically trying to dominate the industry by topping all the charts. The industry values money and status while the people value her humanity. Thatâs the tightrope she walks. The industry uses numbers to rank an artistâs impact which decides how important they are to the machine. Taylorâs gentleness and humanity ONLY survives and serves the collective if she is backed by undeniable power. If sheâs at the top, she has leverage. Sheâs the ONLY artist taming the beast. Plus, dominance in that industry is safety - for her, for her family, for her team, for her long-term plans.
Also, I applaud her for trying to show women how to stop flattening themselves, how to hold longevity in a field, and how to harness your energy and own your work. She will be why the music industry is safer for women in the long run, but first, she has to be the blueprint and expose the cracks in the industry by mastermind design.
I think her long-term goal is irreversible change that will outlive her (a real fucking legacy) and I think she knows that no one else can do it the way she can with how much knowledge and wisdom sheâs gained over the years. And I think she WANTS to do this. I think sheâs a genius for creating a webbing of support from other artists in different parts of the industry. This bolsters her plan and protects her. Artists who have challenged the industry alone have been subjected to terrible demise.
Sheâs sucking the poison out to reclaim authorship of the narrative: Burning down the old identity imposed by contracts, media, fan expectations and making space to re-define herself entirely on her terms while shifting what it means to be an artist and exposing the weakest parts of the industry so we can have more of an open discussion about what it could be instead. Remember: the crowd is her king so if she lures us into a position where we want her to burn the old Taylor down, she has to do it. And if she burns the old Taylor down, the industry as we know it goes down with her. Then the crowd will need a hero who has solutions and there will be Taylor and the New Romantics with a plan to take back the castle and make the kingdom feel brand new.
While I have been vocal about wanting to see her plan come into fruition faster, everything happens in perfect timing. Our society is learning how to come together in a lot of ways without the help of anyone but our neighbors and I think in the long-run we will be a better society for that. Plus, sheâs an astrology girlie and I know she knows when to make a move and when to hold the line. Anyway, cheers to her politically-silent, capitalistic sleeper-cell spy era! Sheâs sacrificing speed and instant audience gratification for the ultimate leverage, in my opinion. Sometimes youâre doing more work behind the scenes than people know and youâve just got to let them bitch about you before the truth comes out because when the truth comes out, itâs quiet đ€«
But that doesnât mean Iâm gonna keep my mouth shut so FUCK ICE! FUCK THE GOONS IN OFFICE! FREE THE WORLD!
I wish I could take credit for writing this. So similar to my thoughts of late. Absolutely brilliantly said @daisydeclosetfied! I love this ending too:

Was about to post my analysis of Opalite on here, but then I heard that Leslie Wexner - the billionaire owner of Victoriaâs Secret and other retail chains - was just named as one of Epsteinâs co-conspirators after a couple Congressmen discovered that his name was illegally redacted in the files.
There was a documentary series about this back in 2022. A summary and the cover shot are both posted below. Anything look familiar?? The tagline is literally âTHE SHOW CANNOT GO ONâ which, from the POV of the Showgirl era, is insane.
An account on TikTok called MadnessMadeforME has posted quite a bit about these connections, so I plan to do a deep dive there and watch the show on Hulu. Makes me very concerned for what these girls were subjected to.

I wonder if people will notice all the red and white 87 jerseys that appear in Heated Rivalry when Scott Hunter is on the ice or when Shane starts bearding with Rose?
Or the social media comments about Shane and Rose that are a literal copy/paste of Swifties gushing about Tayvis?
Nah, probably not.
