Tumbler GOT Fandom is too toxic for me

Wow, I thought I was doing bad on comments. That pos who insulted my fics and sent all those mistells to me? Doing way worse lmao. Not sure if it’s cause they’re hated from all the drama they’ve been in or they are just that bad, not gonna read. The titles and descriptions certainly aren’t enticing. I think to get that few, even no comments on some, you must be pretty bad, because I’m pretty hated in this fandom and I still managed to get at least a couple on each fic of mine.

Anyway, I’ve taken breaks several times from tumblr and every time I come back I just end up getting more people being nasty to me. It seems I can’t post anything without getting attacked. I’ve not even once attacked someone who didn’t attack me first, yet somehow it seems to always happen to me, that and anon hate in the past, which is why my anon box is off. This site truly attracts much more bad people than good. I think I can see why, most good people are driven to abandon or deactivate.

I’m sick of all the nastiness in this fandom and I’ve come to realize I just want to be done for good. I suppose I’m being nasty here myself, but fuck it, they deserve it. Don’t post about me and I won’t post about you. A simple concept that none of the idiots on this site seem to understand.

My fics, which I deleted from fanfiction net will stay on private on a03. I know maybe it’s not fair to the few that actually did review. Maybe at some point, I’ll post on a03 how those people can actually see them. I’m guessing I’d have to make an invite-only blog or something, I don’t know and that's not something I’m sure I’ll do and not something I want to look into now. I do plan to keep writing, I just won’t be posting for everybody to see anymore. 

But Tumblr I am done with. This will be my last post to tumblr (unless someone replies/reblogs). And yes it’s going in the ships tags cause I don’t give a fuck anymore. I tried to put the last one in and it didn’t work for some reason. Maybe this one won’t go either, it seems for all its faults tumblr somehow keeps somewhat off-topic posts like this out of the tags.

How stupid do you have to be to accidentally send the person you’re talking about the messages where you're trashing them?

And no I don’t think I’m the only good writer in J/C fandom I don’t know where the fuck they got that from. Tho truthfully I don’t even read J/C fics anymore except from people who comment on mine cause I’ve lost interest in reading J/C fic. 

How sad is your life that you gotta take a post someone made when they were feeling down about something and go attack them on your blog over it? Annoying and mediocre? I’m sure my fics are far better than yours. I don’t even remember what you wrote that’s how mediocre it was. Tho if I read I probably gave a good review either way cause, unlike some people I actually try to be supportive of my mutuals rather than tear them down. 

I hope you’re happy. I deleted everything and that you would make a post like that only proves my point for why people didn’t review my fics and it had nothing to do with my writing. Also, I’ve even had people come into my anon telling me they were C/J shippers and people even off anon getting pissed at me for replying to drama and not just ignoring so yes I have good reason to think maybe there are more people who read my stuff and just don’t comment because they dislike me. You know nothing so should have kept your dumb bitch mouth shut. People like you ruin fandoms.

I wish more people would comment on my fics. I feel like why even bother when I can see fics in this fandom and even with my pairing that get double or triple what I get. I feel I’m good and deserve more comments. I don’t get why people don’t comment and since I feel my fics are pretty good I feel it must be personal or something.

March 21st is FanArtists Appreciation Day 🌸

Spring is here!

Art blooms like a flower, bringing joy and inspiration and giving color to our words and ideas.

So what better time of the year to show some love to our beloved fanartists? We all forget to leave a comment sometimes. It’s not always easy to go out of our way and tell someone how much we enjoy their work. But a little appreciation goes a long way in encouraging artists to keep creating!

  On March 21st, you’re encouraged to take a moment and show the artists in your fandom(s) some love <3

Not sure how? Why don’t you:

Leave a comment and kudos on every art you like. Don’t worry if your comment is short or you’re repeating what other people have said, it will be appreciated all the same. All you need to remember is to be kind! Too overcome by the beauty of the art to manage more than a key smash? No problem! Even a “<3” can make an artist’s day.

Reblog and put a nice comment in the tags. Remember that while likes are appreciated, the best way to love your favorite art is by sharing it with others! So hit that reblog button and watch the appreciation roll in from all sides! ✨

Pop into your favorite artists’ inboxes and talk to them about their drawings. Let them know which one struck a chord with you and why you can’t get it out of your head. Feel free to add in a question - maybe ask what inspired them to make a certain piece? - even a thank you message would be great, but don’t be upset if they aren’t able to answer. Just know that your affection was appreciated! it never hurts to put more positivity and love out in the world 🌸

Make a reclist. Reclists are common for fic, but not so for art! Sharing art that you love on tumblr, discord, twitter, and other platforms shows your appreciation and also earns the artists more visibility. Why not try building a reclist of your favorite art around themes (like dancing or art-of-fic) or around specific ships, universes, or fandoms? Make sure that every time you share art, you’re sharing a direct link to what the artist posted and you fully credit the artist. Reposting (copying the image to a new post) or sharing uncredited art hurts instead of helps!

Create something inspired by fanart! There are so many creative ways you can be inspired by the art you love. How about writing a fanfic to go with it? Maybe create mood boards, aesthetics, fanvids, playlists, remixes, or even draw more art! Anything is good; whether it’s your first creation or your hundredth, nothing pleases an artist more than knowing you felt inspired by their work. Make sure to credit the artist in your post and tag them or send them a link to make sure they see it!

Buy the artist a coffee if they have a ko-fi page. They spend so many hours creating amazing content, a coffee could give them a sprint to go through the day! You can even leave a private message with your gift, so you can let the artist know which of their pieces you love best, if there’s a reason they’re your fav, or just slam out every heart emoji on your keyboard <3

🌸 Ultimately, the goal of the day is to spread love and appreciation to the fanartists that help make our fandoms beautiful. So on March 21st, take a moment and spread a little happiness, grow some love, and help fandom keep blooming. 🌸

To be fair tho this is a blogging site, not a debate site. Usually what people should do is ignore a post they disagree with rather than reblog with discourse. For me and I’m sure many others on here we come here to find gifs and other posts we like and like-minded blogs to follow and maybe communicate with. Reblogging from me with discourse wouldn’t make me hate someone, but I would probably unfollow if they were a mutual.

Whether you sign your name or leave your thoughts anonymously. Whether your comment is paragraphs in length or a few short words. Comment on every fanfic you read and enjoy in the month of January.

The Philosophy: Comments are what keep a fandom thriving and growing.

We don’t see comments as a transaction. They’re not a price paid for reading a fic. We see comments as an interaction, a way of building relationships. Comments are a courtesy, not a currency. [x]

Fandom is a relationship between dozens,hundreds, thousands, maybe millions of fans, and the only way for the greater fandom relationship to function, is for those fans to interact. One way to interact is by writing and reading fanfic. A writer prompts an interaction by posting their work; it is up to the reader to then acknowledge (or not acknowledge).

As one of our favorite blogs, @ao3commentoftheday​, said: [x]

“Comment if you can, but don’t be bullied or pressured into it. A comment should be written in the same spirit as the fic itself: wanting to reach out to other people who love the same fandom as you do. It’s not easy to do that, I know, and I don’t hold it against you at all if you can’t.”

Please note that this challenge is to “comment on every fanfic you read and enjoy in the month of January.” As our fandom forebears were fond of saying, “Don’t like, don’t read.” For FaFiCoWriMo, we have taken that one step further by saying, “Don’t like, don’t comment.”

No matter how well-intentioned, critique is useless unless it comes from a place of trust. Unless you know an author personally and they have specifically asked for your critique, please keep it to yourself.

It costs zero of your currency and zero of your time to not be a jerk.
