the funniest thing about the homophobic Spn fans and ones that despise Destiel and Cas being queer is that they seem to think that was the first big queer statement that Spn made which is insane considering;

-Spn had casual representation of men kissing men with Crowley and Bobby pretty early on, and they don’t make it into a massive “ha! Gayyyy!” Joke despite the fact this was the 2000s when that was the main type of humour.

-Casual gay rep with the Sam and Dean cosplayers, and the Dean and Cas actresses in “Fanfiction”, again both of these examples are actually incredibly sweet.

-Sam doesn’t bat an eyelid when deans siren is a man even before the siren mentions what Dean really wanted was a brother

-Gabriel flirting with just about everything that moves

-Charlie. Which has gotta be one of the best queer women I’ve seen on screen representation wise.

-Godstiel killing a homophobic pastor for spreading the wrong message.

-Dean actually being pretty proud of the fact he thought a gay guy had flirted with him to the point that he’s visibly saddened when he finds out it was a ruse.

-“a study in werewolf transgenderism”

-Cas taking the form of a man AND the form of a woman.

This show was actually doing queer rep consistently. Was it always perfect? No. Has some of it aged questionably? Yeah a little. But was this, at its core, a very popular show making sure to represent its fanbase in a respectful way? Hell yeah it was. So how the fuck homophobes managed to miss the obvious allyship of this show is beyond me.

We still don't know exactly what was said and what tone it was in. All we have are people sharing it online without any recordings. I'm sure he said something, but why would you lose your shit without knowing exactly what?

Even if he said everything that is being reported, so what? How does that change how YOU feel about Destiel? How YOU feel about the characters? An actor can say whatever they want but they aren't the only ones to create that world. And we've heard from plenty of people about how things went down over the years. If you see it, that should be good enough for you.

I will defend Jensen FOREVER against accusations of being homophobic. I will also block you. I'm done with entertaining assholes who throw that word around because they didn't get what they wanted.

*Jensen doesn't know you. Jensen doesn't know he hurt you. Jensen didn't mean to hurt you. SO if you feel hurt by him, maybe it's time to reassess what you are getting from the fandom you're in?

i've always said jensen is a chameleon and his answers depend on the vibes of the crowd. a jaytwo / hostile to destiel crowd is going to get different answers than a more destiel positive space. and some people might hate that, but you have to remember these are fan conventions where they are working a job and that job is to entertain the fans. if you're in a room full of people booing destiel you're probs not going to start talking abt destiel. also, lets not forget that obsessive jaytwo / w* fans in the past have threatened his family / kids / wife. once danneel was gifted something with rusty fishhooks and hurt herself. another time someone left a dead kitten on their doorstep. like SORRY y'all but i don't blame him or envy him for having to straddle the fandom line between two huge ships. it's different for jared or misha where they can solely stick to "bros" or "destiel" sides. because their character isn't smack-dab in the middle of the two biggest ships in the fandom. he's never going to please everyone, and maybe he really does just see dean and cas as a deep friendship, which is fine, i don't need an actor's headcanon to validate my interpretation. but i think it's always going to be futile to continue to ask him abt these things because he is in a lose-lose position with fans no matter what. and again, i don't blame him for trying to please the crowd or whatever because his past experiences with obsessive fans has not been great.
